I... I can't... I refuse to believe this is real life.
Man, if this were the case for everyone, I can't imagine how many new players we wouldn't have who didn't give the game a go on their friends/family/SO's account for a sec before getting their own..
tl;dr to OP: Chill out, honeybee. It's a game.
TIL: Handing off the controller to someone else for a second is tos-breaking and banworthy. *shrug*

You say you don't care and then you said you reported him.I was in a PUG earlier this evening and we wiped, looks like the healer stopped healing. The guy then came on Party Chat, apologized and said his girlfriend took over while he did something.
I don't care about wiping, my concern is... are people allowed to share a character? I.e. two individuals playing one toon? If not, this guy was cheating. Anyway, I left the duty and reported him. Not sure what else I can do. I feel awful about it, guilty that I was in the part but I had no idea.
And no...it's not illegal. His girlfriend played his character. It's his girlfriend. Not a power level company in Taikia, China
The guy had to pee and his girlfriend grabbed the controller. I refuse to believe this is real lol. OP has to be a troll.
Can you imagine what happens if someone passed him while driving? Does he call 911 and report every car for speeding too?

Yes and then he is worried to lose his license, because he was on the same road as the person who was driving too fast.
...at least that's what I get from the 2 posts the OP made in this forum.
He feels guilty because he was in the same dungeon with someone who was "sharing" his account, not because he was reporting someone who did no harm to anyone... >.>

So wait a minute, you're asking if someone broke the rules, after reporting someone, for apologizing for causing a wipe in your duty...I was in a PUG earlier this evening and we wiped, looks like the healer stopped healing.
Can someone confirm of this is or is not allowed and is there any other action I can take (having the XP removed or whatever?).
Thanks.

If I read the OP correctly, the healer had a girlfriend next to him and he still playing a game?
Jokes apart, technically his gf didn't take over the character, if as OP said, healer were standing still and not healing. Maybe she just took the controller in her hands and that's it. I see no problems.

Back when I was a guide for a different MMO, I suspended someone for a day for making a petition like the one the OP claims to have made.
There are literally not enough hours in the day of any member of a CS team to deal with that kind of abject nonsense on any sort of basis, regular or otherwise.
The best part of that job (more realistically, that era of gaming) was being able to heavy-handedly deal with that kind of inane bullshit without filling out paperwork justifying why you might have done what you did. "Petitioner was an asshole" sufficed if someone had a question about it.

Yes, it's technically against the terms you agree to when playing the game. However, even in their terms Square just says that you're responsible for maintaining your own account privacy, and if you share your character or account login information, they are not responsible for anything that happens. Could they delete your account for it? Sure, they technically can delete any account they want. Will they? Probably not.
Speaking for myself, I've handed off my controller to friends to play around in the game to get a feel for how it works, and I've had friends who play ask me to play a minute for them while they run off to answer the door or run to the restroom. This isn't a big deal and doesn't violate any rules considering they haven't given me their login information. Also a few years back I gave my roommate my login information because he wanted to see if he enjoyed the game before committing to buying it. I let him made a character on my account which he played for a month before deciding he didn't want to get the final game. Not a big deal, and afterwards, I changed my account password. Again, not a big deal as the rules explicitly state that if anything happened because I shared that information, Square simply wasn't responsible.
End of the day, lighten up. No real harm happened to you because he let someone else take the controller for a minute.
