Sounds like an issue of style over substance, to me. IMO, this has become very petty.

And no, I don't care how you act elsewhere, because I don't see it as something compartmentalised.

And I still fail to see why I should be expected to judge you on how you behave on other forums rather than your long post history on this one.

No need to reply to this.

EDIT December 2nd - really a separate post but I don't want to wake up the topic again after it died down - if this was presented from the start as "I made a Discord, come if you want", I probably wouldn't have objected like this. It's that it was presented as being intended as a democratically-organised Discord "for the entire community" and yet - as I tried very hard to say neutrally in my first post, at least, and increasingly failiingly after that - because Theodric was writing as if he expected to automatically be a moderator, I wanted to raise the issue that based on past discussions in this forum and regardless of who is objectively 'right' or 'wrong', it would be likely to put a number of regular posters off from participating.

If the initial intent of this topic was to consult the forum community about how to best set up the Discord "for everyone", then I thought perhaps Theodric might even want to hear it, if he hadn't thought of it being a negative factor, and if he was trying to make it welcoming to as many people as possible.

As it is, while I don't want to be boasting about getting 'likes', and can't be sure how representative it really is... with 5 on the original announcement versus 12 on my objection, regardless of who is "in the right", that's not a promising sign if this was supposed to appeal to the majority of the forum.

Because it was supposed to be about getting people's opinions, I felt like it was important to voice a concern that I thought a number of people might have with the proposal, but might not want to be the one to say it. (Neither did I for that matter, but I felt someone had to.) Perhaps I could have said it in a better way, but if this was truly intended to sort out potential issues, then I think it was something that had to be raised.
The upvotes are probably not representative at all and are a particularly easy metric to game, if one has the wherewithal to do so, anyway.

In any event, you've voiced your concerns, the Discord is up and running and we can all move on now.
