This game has maybe one or two more expansions left after Shadowbringers.
There's only so many jobs they can add, not all of them are going to make the cut.
They also have a certain roadmap of jobs and roles they need to add, so many tanks, so many melee, etc. They're going to fill gaps before they add extras so there's a fair role distribution for raiding.
We currently have too many casters, for a typical raid party that has 2 tanks, 2 healers, 2 melee, 1 ranged and 1 caster slot, thats 3 jobs fighting for 1 position, compared to 2 fighting for every other position. (Presuming the new jobs are tank and healer)
The roles currently in need of new jobs are tank, healer, maiming, scouting and physical ranged.
My point is we wouldnt have hot Blue Mage as a caster job anyway, mot until at least 7.0 at any rate.
Would you be prepared to wait that long?
Or is something better than nothing?
There's also the case of whether the job itself fits into the role system, which has already been argued to death, and everyone's firmly on one side of the debate or the other. No matter which side you're on, its clear which side SE is on.
So for the jobs that dont fit the role system and dont fit their job roadmap, would you rather we never get those jobs, or that we get them as limited jobs that serve as side content that could well be better than Eureka and more futureproof due to needing updates?
