I support the devs decision as well. You can't please everyone, and the devs know this. And I'd bet a years salary that the same people who are upset now, would also be upset if the devs compromised and gave us a ready-to-raid version of blue because it also would not meet their expectations. Except now, the players who are looking forward to this new feature would also be pissed off. Like this, the devs can make adjustments as they see fit without worrying about compromising balance with our current jobs. Plus, raiders are going to need something to do after they burn through the next tier, am I not correct?

You guys have been wanting them to try something new. So let them. Let's see where these BLU chips fall in the coming months.

You're correct on some things and wrong on the others.

Not everyone would be pleased with any given iteration, but it's wrong to say those of us that are upset would be just as upset with a "XIV" version of blu instead of the "FFV" version we are getting. We had accepted that, like all the other jobs, blu would have to give up some things to work in the game. Rdm was another job Yoshi had said wouldn't work and they made it work with a mostly positive reception. If the job wasn't quite what we wanted at first, then they could change it in patches and expacs like how smn has been getting better. It wouldn't be a "one and done" thing.

Many on our side don't want you to lose your side content but we don't see why there can't be a middle ground. The best solution that I've seen is two versions with different job crystals. You keep your version and we could get our's later. Probably 6.0 and a lot of us have said we would be fine with that.

Also, what's with this "raiders are going to need something to do after they burn through the next tier" as a reason against a full version of blu? A lot of us, raiders and non-raiders, wanted to have blu as our main in the FULL game.

I wish I was wrong on some of those things. I really do. But I am afraid that no version of BLU will keep an overly invested player from getting upset if the job doesn't fit their mold, and strongly voicing those opinions on these forums. Just look at the backlash we're having currently. Do you believe that even amongst the opposers of this version of BLU, that they are all of one mind how BLU should work?

Most jobs have deviated from their original concepts in order to fit the FFXIV mold. Some have a new (or no) identity as a result. BLU is a whole different animal though. This job stands to suffer the most loss of identity and original concepts from days past by the constrictions of FFXIV. You say that the community would be happy and accepting with a middle ground here, but it couldn't be further from the truth. They might be now. Now that they know what they're getting and are willing to loosen up their ideals revolving around BLU. But if BLU was released this late into an expansion, and made viable for raids it would be utter chaos for the devs.

That's not what I meant at all. If I was taking any jabs, it was at how quickly fresh content is burned up. Choosing a job to be your main before you even played it, let alone it being released, is indicative of being overly invested in it. I won't dismiss the curveball though. SE definitely threw one as everyone would expect a new job to be viable for all content. However, you have to take a step back. How realistic is it really, for the devs to release a new job late into an expansion, and it can slide right into the current raid tier?

I am one of the people that are against the limited job version of blu. Just like other jobs we currently have, no iteration would please everyone. I think there would be a net increase of happy players if blu were a full job. There would definitely be more happy players if your side got to keep your content and my side was told we would have to wait in order to get the version of blu we want using a different job crystal. I know I personally would go with that last one.

A lot of us would argue that rdm had the most to lose as it is the most hybrid job until you get to things like freelancer. They made it work though and most agree with that. I would like it to have a stronger melee component but it's definitely a fun job to play.

On your last point, that's what most people thought when we heard "limited job" and that it would be capped at 50. That they didnt want to have to adjust the current endgame to fit blu. Most of us on my side would have been perfectly fine with that.
