Alphascape is AMAZING! (Spoilers!)

I enjoyed this tier a lot more than I expected to. It's my favorite raid tier so far.

The only fight I didn't fully enjoy was the one against Omega itself. I honestly expected better. It didn't help that the music was absolutely terrible.

Chaos and Midgardsormr were great. Omega-M/F were pretty good, too.

The difficulty was exactly where I've wanted it.

Devs, I don't do this often, so enjoy it while it lasts: Good job!


Also, please tell me we haven't seen the last of Alpha. I'm starting to like the little guy.

Omega Weapon is at least very strongly inspired by Omega

Well...no, not at all. Omega is a separate being that retains the roughly the ame appearance in every Final Fantasy. On the opposite, Omega Weapon is always tied to Ultima Weapon and its look changes from one game to another to match Ultima's.

As for the music, Ultima Weapon has its own theme (Heared also against Proto Ultima and Ultimate Ultima), and it's not Maker's Ruin.

I agree! Patch 4.4 feels like a legitimate in the right direction. I really enjoyed the story and unique feel to alphascape!

So after clearing O12 I can add my review on it :

The music was OK, not memorable but good. A lot better than Omega O11 that was maybe the worst EVER.

The fight itself is really enjoyable, far more easy than expected but still enjoy it and he make a lot of sens. I mean Omega using our weapon against us was the best option they could choose.

The boss itself is... meh. Don't find him original at all. The human shape make totaly sens and we really don't have that much human size boss so it was kinda refreshing.
What disapoint me was more the design. The male one look like a cheap Sephiroth and I still can put myself to enjoy him, female one TOTALY look like Kaine from Nier so I can't help but love her but still its not that original plus yeah the "mechanical" duo male-female fighting together remind me of Adam and Eve (You don't say ?!) but from Nier Automata even in the color scheme black and white totaly feel a bit Nier in the core.
As much as I love Nier and automata and I god damn love them as true master piece it don't feel original and awesome to me.

Now the end of the story arc is... Bad. Just Bad. Was really mad after the staff cause it was insulting.

Annnnnnd I still can't stand Alpha, the cute animal side-kick cliché is overused and stall. Was about to sparta this little crap the second I seen him look in this damn hole.

Someone pointed out that the male one looks exactly like the character on the box art from 1.0 Collector's Edition. And you can't really be Sephiroth without the overly long coat and overly long hair and the overly long sword.

After a quick check its totaly true, its him. Totaly change my mind, its a great choice of design for the male part. Even if the rest stand, its make it a little better.

Skipping Savage this time around since I am not interested in the enemies unlike the previous 2 sets but with that said. These fights are so much better than the previous raids of SB. Chaos was a really fun fight, I can not say the same for Alte Roite. (Train was pure nostalgia fun and honestly not a bad fight)
The last fight while mechanically wise, I was down with, the villains....I didn't care for. It made me think of that awful movie Advent children, Black Leather Villains lol. The ending of the raid seemed like it tried to make me sad with what they went with after beating the final boss(Grill) but I honestly never cared story wise about anything ever going on in Omega, characters and lore.

Omega though is probably one of the worst ones, The duty action could just be removed imo. It probably will have more importance in Savage maybe. Still a good fight, not the best but so much entertaining than Guardian, that alone gives it a pass for me.
2nd Fight, While the fight was fun. Another Dragon is getting old for me we even got a another Dragon Boss in the dungeon. Which is weird I used to always thinking man I love killing dragons...but I am actually getting tired of doing so....

After a quick check its totaly true, its him.

I have a really strange feeling from Alphascape, and in fact, this whole patch. With the design choices, the music reusing samples from past iterations (Torn From the Heavens, Maker's Ruin, etc...) I have a feeling that they're trying to tie several loose ends.

Could it be that they actually needed ARR, HW and SB to really sever their links to the past and that, maybe, 5.0 will be able to rise as a real fresh start ? This thought actually gives me more faith in the game that anything from the past two years. And, it's still guesses at that point, but from the event in the MSQ, there could be a clever way so that you won't have to do the MSQ up to 4.5 to start 5.0.

As much as I'd love this to be true... I think they just runned out of idea and re-used what they find and called it a day.

I really wanted us to take Omega-F out and leave her with Cid so she could try and understand, and learn what made them special. The fact all of that was Omega just wanting to go home...

This is what I did not like at all. It felt like a cheap attempt to make us feel sad a cute girl was dying. I didn't fall for it. It made me laugh in disgust and dislike Omega story line even more.
