Move the servers back?

They have 3 "datacenters" which are server clusters, not physical datacenters. The same as US, where we are in 1 datacenter, but there are 2 clusters.

I don't think people understand that it's cost-prohibitive to buy hardware to put in datacenters all over the world, leaving software maintenance and tuning of those servers aside.

Some of the servers I work on are 30k each...

I've worked on some stuff that costs in the millions for one piece of equipment.

I think people understand just fine? If Square is unwilling or incapable of footing the bill to meet the basic needs of their playerbase, however, they should not be releasing MMOs to begin with. But if they choose to not pay, and choose to continue releasing games like this, they've got no one but themselves to blame when the damn things collapse.

New players aren't going to give them any benefit if the game lags them out during their free trial/first month. People paying a subscription will inevitably get tired of not being able to enjoy the service they're paying for.
