Cool fatalism, bro. But when the fix to your problem is so simple, is it really the time to throw up your hands and not fix it?, this literally fixes the problem people have with the event item and makes the devs look understanding. if they were replicas, they would be different items, and Niqote would not have made the thread. What would be the problem then?

Granted this may aid in appeasing the folk with the White Ravens, it also develops a pretty nasty mentality that anything handed out is fine provided it's called a replica. I don't know about you, but blessed tools for example I spent a solid 2 days doing my log, and spending an enormous amount of gil to alleviate the time, similarly I know people that have spent a significant amount of time to reduce the costs. If they were to just release these as a crafted item and slapped the name replica on it, it'd still feel pretty annoying. That is why this is a pretty broken road. (Though the tools are something you can get any time, these not so). Anyone that feels as though their achievement or self worth has been invalidated by this move should probably have a long hard think. It is a sidequest item that is no longer obtainable, not to mention it was an event that happened a long time ago. There's plenty of glory to be had elsewhere.

I think they could've avoided a lot of this by just naming them "replicas", but it's probably too late for that now since the patches still have to go through the system and be verified by Sony and all that. So it's likely that they set this whole thing up months ago figuring it wouldn't be that big of a deal. They could retroactively rename it, but probably by the time the event is over, everyone will have stashed these earrings into their armoire and it will have blown over.

That being said, I'm anxiously awaiting my Hellhound replica.

The Ultimate scene is infested with dirty money and account sharing...yet mysteriously the people up in arms about these earrings are very quiet when it comes to that particular issue.

You seem to work really hard through many of your posts to spread those ideas that Feast scene or Ultimate scene, or whatever challenging content is infested with awful despicable dirty people, you make it sound like it's so infested that it doesn't worth to do that content.

You work hard to put the doubt in everyone when it comes to any players doing that content.

You work hard to take stretched urban legends and make them thousand times bigger than they are.

Why do I use the term urban legends? Because it's really what it is, something taken from one particular isolated case, and stretched and milked endlessly to taint anyone else around, and perniciously insert doubt in people's heads.

I wonder how many people have read you and people like you with the same agenda, and renounced to try those content because you convinced them it's alllllll dirty.

The truth is that last Feast season, one person was boosted, one.
Players doing Feast are watchful, pretty much everyone is on the notorious Wolf Pup Dens Discord helping each other after each game, it's growing, it's fascinating, some people are working really hard to build that community, only to see their efforts ruined by comments like yours.
The fact is you can't any more do something malicious in Feast without its all watchful community noticing it immediately, it's too obvious, that's why that one person who got a boost got caught immediately. It's one person over thousand of players, one. And yet you want everyone to think it's all dirty, full of terrible people, you have no idea how wrong you are.

And same with Ultimate scene, you want everyone to think any player there is either a seller or a buyer, that they're allllll dirty, just because you read a famous troll post once and because you see desperate announces in one PF, you want to bury its all community and taint them forever without distinction.

While the truth is that this community is like the rest of the game, full of wonderful people, full or normal people, that don't deserve to be stained like this constantly by you.

Wolf Pups Den (and by extension Braveheart) has done a lot in helping to make the PVP community a lot less toxic. Their respective owners have put a LOT into them.

Not everyone who does Feast (or Ultimate) is some lowlife, mouth-breathing troglodyte. By far, the majority of players who do PVP are helpful if you ask them. They want the mode to become more popular and they want to get more people participating. Head over to the PVP forum and you'll see people trying hard to breathe life back into Astragalos, of all things.

Of course, if I'm being honest, I don't think this should be the responsibility of the players.

Feast, Frontlines and Astragalos deserve a lot more attention from the development team and the community. Right now probably only a sliver of the population even gives PVP more than a passing glance. Many people want to try for the rewards, but they give up before they even get out of the gate because they don't have a lot of time to wait around for queues to pop.

There's not much to get with Wolf Marks once you have them capped. If you have collars, there's nothing save for weapons that you can spend those on either.

Astragalos died when it was discovered that people were hacking the mounts for crazy speed, and the fact that healers were so over-powered, it was nearly impossible to take them down. People also hack in Feast and sometimes Frontlines, where they can run without penalty or cast some spells quicker than they should be able to. A report here...a report there, and it dissuades people from even wanting to try.

Those reports, like a lot of things here, get blown way out of proportion. But when you have such a desirable thing and make it reachable for a very few, you'd better believe that people are going to (at least try to) cheat their way to the top.

So you can see how things like this start...and spread...and cause a ripple effect. The community has done a lot to help change that, but sometimes I really feel like the dev team could throw us a bone every now and then!

Honestly, I don't think there are too many people in the game that care enough about people's accessories to ask where you got a certain pair of earrings.

There was not.
Sadly, since 1.0 didn't display titles a lot of achievements went without them.
If there was, I'd have used "Breathless" to this day, I think.

I'm not thrilled about the earrings being given out this way because I think having replicas would satisfy most people in this circumstance instead of actually giving out the original legitimate items. Still, I don't care enough to raise a hullabaloo about it all. I'm more interested in what the quest for the Rising will involve, and if it's actually going to go more in-depth to the Calamity.

I'd like for SE to give 2.0 players and beyond some more insight as to the events of 1.0 and what it was like to play during that timeframe. I liked the mini-game they had last year a lot, but the overall quality of the Rising 2017 once again felt like a down-grade compared to when we had the 18th Floor available to carouse. I love more in-depth stuff like that, where you can actively walk and talk to NPCs and find little easter eggs. If they could do that again while also providing more insight to the events of 1.0 for new players, I'd be very happy.

If there is a 6.0 and we are level 90 unsync it will be pretty much the same thing and would anyone really care about those weapons at that point?

I don't do Ultimate and probably never will, but it shouldn't be unsyncable. It should be ilevel locked forever. The whole point of having Ultimate is for the people that want a challenge. It wouldn't make sense to ease something that exists solely to be hard. And it would make even less sense to just hand out the rewards from it to anybody.

I don't care about getting White Ravens at all, but clearly some people who have them are bothered by it. I don't see the point in intentionally disrespecting those people. I think SE made a mistake in their choice of rewards for this event.

Perhaps next time, you should dial down the mindless praise, tone policing and be a bit more objective. I didn't state that every single player is involved in cheating. I merely stated that when so many people so it, it's hard to recognise if someone can be praised for the accomplishment or not. It's very interesting how there's always a coordinated strike to derail efforts to call out such behaviour, though. I suppose that's no surprise when the guilty parties involved are making a fortune off of boosting services, though.

No, you implied that it's infested, and that even the people not guilty explicitly were guilty implicitly through association. You also continue with some weird conspiracy theory after this quote, which only prove's Benson's point that you seem to be on some crusade. I'll hold judgment until I see definitive evidence; proof of sale, for instance, or something else equally as damning, though.

Last time you brought this up, I told you how you tell the difference between a sold clear of anything and an earned clear of anything: FFLogs. Sellers don't upload the logs of their clear selling. So if a log is up, then you're safe assuming they earned their clear.
