Yes, because this has been going on for multiple days about an item that harms absolutely no one with other people having, but yet, we're still on the debate between some people of who honestly deserves it and who doesn't. Basically what Mal said earlier.

It's beyond silly and absurd.

I debated quite a few pages ago with other people and even then, those people we're...well some arguments were far out there so to speak. A forum is a place of discussion, not an echo chamber.

You shouldn't try to start policing who you think has valid opinions and who doesn't when everyone is allowed to have an opinion. You may not like hearing it, but maybe leave baseless assumptions and personal attacks about myself as a person out the door then, you have every right to speak about it as much as I do.

I'm not going to soften my language because it rubbed you the wrong way either. You have a choice. You either ignore what I had said or you don't. But, you don't get to tell me how to phrase my opinions either. It's a public forum.

You just said it yourself, the forum is place of discussion. Therefore if people want to continue to discuss it allow them, and you can also do what you want but show some respect for the people that still feel strongly about the topic. "I think this is absurd, so no one should discuss it further because I'm right and no one else...." Yeah no, that's not giving free reigns to a discussion at all.

No one said your opinion was invalid, but trying to do the same to others with a claim of "absurdity" is no different. It's really not a baseless assumption when it's quite clear in the use of lack of respect. But hey ho, If you have nothing further to contribute, then there is little point to continue being invested in it really, that all. Do what you like....

I got myself through college with a Bachelor's degree, survived a car accident, work two jobs because fiance has nerve/brain damage from said car accident that wasn't our fault and can't work, survived my own suicide attempt, take care of three other people in my household, and still somehow retain a healthy relationship with friends & family despite the fact that any other normal human being might have actually cracked by now due to such extreme pressures. How's that for a zinger on personal achievements and hardships...? And not you or anyone else can tell me otherwise.

Well, it's pretty easy to see when one person (now, who could that be?) goes back in the thread to re-post old content that's not even directed at them personally. It literally has no bearing on the current conversation either since that was a conversation between another antagonistic user and myself...and then tries to twist it into their silly narrative as antagonistically as possible in hopes that the other person gets riled up and shouts obscenities or whatever at them so that they can have some kind of....make-believe "gotcha" moment that never existed in the first place.

Yea, that's pretty pathetic alright, you sure hit the nail on the head there.

I'd just ignore the tone policing, honestly. So long as someone isn't breaching the forum's code of conduct then no poster has any business engaging in such things. If you pay careful attention, you'll note that they never speak up and tell people on their side in a debate/argument to lay off any perceived aggression. It's a common tactic used by certain forum goers in an effort to try and rile up those with differing opinions. Sometimes because they find it amusing and on other occasions because they're hoping to get someone to say something they'll regret so they can be reported.

Let's not forget, some of those pushing for exclusivity didn't even play in 1.0 and/or they have made it abundantly clear that they do not even like FFXIV to any great extent.

If you go through a particular poster's post history and the vast majority of their posts involve complaining about the game then suggesting that they close their browser and/or take their leave of the game is a fair suggestion. I'm not going to beat around the bush and pretend as if this isn't the latest forced controversy for some of the posters who seem to get up in arms over every little thing. It wasn't so long ago that there was a thread with pages and pages of people complaining about the fetch quest tied to the Ridorana Lighthouse unlock sequence. Then when that particular argument wore thing the narrative shifted to bashing Ramza for not being politically correct.

In this thread, people have explained their reasons for either wanting the earrings to be accessible or having them remain unobtainable. It's unlikely that many are going to shift their position, though there's certainly no solid consensus on the matter. Yet now that everybody has said their piece, the thread is kept active by a handful of posters...some of which seems much more concerned at this point with taking things out of context and tone policing. It's very strange.
