What's made up for that is the randomness.

1. Rath does his aoe roar for 20k damage.
2a. He targets one dps for fire: you have plenty of time to react.
2b. He immediately turns and rushes the healer, not allowing them to spend a GCD to get people to full health.

Things like the timing or his roar; if he uses it shortly after the adds spawn, it makes it much harder to get people up to full health, and you NEED full health just to survive a rush. Or he can just do four slow fires on two different people in a row. Or he can randomly do his fast fireball. His attacks have tells, but the order can be randomized; so you're almost always reacting. If you get a good set of abilities its so much easier, but he can just decide to try to two-shot a dps by rushing them, then rushing again.

Hope is fine, I have a problem with expectation. Expecting an easy mount for no reason (since SE did nothing to communicate the difficulty of this trial prior to it's release) is silly..

You get multiple easy mounts for seasonal events; christmas bear, egg ads, halloween broom, Broken Heart, etc.
