Any smart consumer will tell a company what it is they feel they could do better, and a smart company will be happy to receive it.

This is how business improves for everyone involved.

Also, you can like something and still see what's wrong with it. You don't have to blindly just accept everything and pretend that it's perfect.

Because next time they will let a roach slip in the soup with the idea that no one will complain since no one ever complained from the fly before.

We need PvP that isn't so bland. They made it worse when they changed all the pvp abilities. I play games for both PvE content and PvP content, and atm, FF14 is only half-heartedly scratching my PvE itch.

Also, chocobo races are my guilty pleasure, if they had Player vs Player only chocobo races, (with a much larger MGP payout to incentivize people to play it) I would be all over that. Maybe a flying track where you have to go through rings as well.

FFXIV has so much potential to make things so much fun, but they always go for the safe bland route instead.

Honestly, I think the main problem is just that the honeymoon is over for a lot of people. After ARR everyone was riding on a high seeing that the game recovered and became so successful. And with HW having such a well-received story and production, people were still feeling really great. But, as years pass, the excitement is starting to wear off, and the little annoyances are starting to grow into big annoyances as the game doesn't change. The staff also began to get more comfortable/practiced in following the "same-old pattern" which people were starting to get bored of. So now people are wanting something new/exciting to "spice things up," or else they start "cheating" on FFXIV with other games and finding they actually like what they find and maybe don't want to come back.

Truthfully I am not sure to what degree this cycle would have been prevented no matter what -- it certainly happened with many other MMOs. Objectively speaking, SE probably anticipated this long ago, and any dip in sub numbers is probably in line with their projections. (In their recent earnings, they even called out FFXIV as a strength despite otherwise weak results in that division.) But it would probably help, at least in terms of the tone of their communications, if they focused a bit more on trying to "win back" those on the edge. More than anything, I think people want to feel like SE is constantly fighting for their approval/attention (constantly trying to "woo" them like the old days), and isn't just resting on their laurels and taking them for granted.

Excuse me but no. We pay our money for this game, and are entitled to give feedback.
Nothing has changed since A Realm Reborn, yes it was a good BASE for a growing MMO but we are still at this base. Copy and Paste content is getting boring, content is now designed to milk as much money in subs as possible as all goals are tediously slow, content being staggered so you have to sub more than once. Grind Grind all the time, new haircuts isn't content, new costumes in mogstation isn't content either. People say oh just sub for each patch and take a break, but soon its gonna be, sub for the expansion day and then quit till next expansion. This game is just offering the bare minimum it can at the moment to keep subs, people need to speak with their wallets.

What i meant was, instead of WHAT'S wrong, "what needs to improve and what are your ideas" question would be better. I always criticize but telling "this game sucks this way" solves nothing.

I meant like that way. I have LOTS of things that i am not pleased as well but i don't say "this game is so wrong".

That's what this thread is for. What needs to improve. How to do it? That's what they're getting paid for.

Admittedly, not with my money. I haven't been subbed in half a year.
