    I never imagined I would actually see some people complaining about this. How is this a bad thing exactly? At worst, it changes nothing; you aren't required to use the extra slots just because they're there. At best, it means you don't have to decide what to swap out when you come across a fight that would benefit one of the ultra-niche skills.

    How do you propose that would work though? You can't have all 10 slots always open or else low levels would be unbalanced. You could assign each ability a level and have them unlocked gradually, but that comes with its own problems and is fundamentally worse than just having you unlock slots and being able to put whatever skill you want in it.

    It's better to keep the slots and just increase how many we have until they can come up with a better system.

    Edit: Ignore me. I completely forgot that role actions already do have levels.
