Selling Ultimate Weapon Ultima Is Apparently Not Against the ToS

Game fairness is fleeting. To you, your version seems fair. Some People might say that having alternate mens of gjetting what you want is completely fair.

For me, it dosent matter because I'll never use that service. I do however understand how someone can't be arsed to farm a raid and go trough the frustration that comes with pubs Just for irrelevant glamour.

I don't feel terribly confident about this when seeing how poorly all of the ToS violations that could fall under "illicit activity" in general have been handled.

IE, they're still telling us to use the Report RMT function on the spammers in cities because it's supposed to mute them but they've been circumventing that function for years by breaking up their sentences with random symbols.

Considering I both know and know of cheaters, botters and etc who have been playing for years. You'll forgive me if I very little confidence in SE to ever fix it.

The person that got me into FFXIV is a known botter on our server and has been playing since the start of HW. SE sure likes to take their sweet time.

As far as I've heard, the only reason people get banned for botting, hacking, etc is if they specifically mention it in their chat and thus give the GMs some easy evidence they can use to incriminate them.

I can't think of why else the number of weekly bans is starting to be less then the number of offenders I see on Cactaur alone.

Is it fairy obvious though? I'm sorta new and when I saw those ads I figured they had characters on multiple servers. I know some people that have multi chars because they just like raiding and hate the lock outs.

If they sell Ultimate even just for Gil (which they dont because some of those FC have price lists on their website) its still against the ToS because they are using the account of the buyer to clear it for him because you can only do those fight with 8 very good players.

I mean, I won’t say that people buying clear is breaking my immersion—they are free to spend their $1,200 USD on whatever they please. If they deem that spending it on a virtual UwU weapon is worth over a grand in cash, okay then? I don’t like it, but it doesn’t cheapen any achievement I will get when I finally clear Ultimate—I’ll have proof that I’ve earned mine, where as they won’t. So there’s really no argument there for me at least.

So wouldnt it be then better to just make Ultimate unsynchable later? I mean if selling clears does not cheapen anything, I am not really sure why Ultimate has to stay synch? Maybe this would get some people to not buy clears for real money, if they know they can just unsynch it later.

You don't need to respond those type of comments. It was already proven that some groups do it. The only questions that should be asked are how many customers do they get and why does SE continue to allow open RMT?


Why stop there? If a seller said in chat logs they were selling for money, they probably meant for gil. If they said 'real money' or included a paypal address, they were only joking. The GMs wouldn't know if a payment was sent to any paypal account.

Alone the advertisment, joking or not, can result in a ban.

They take years for these kinds of bans, seen it happen a few times.
But like they say cut one head and two will rise. Its useless at the pace they "investigate," and the wrist slaps they hand out.

That is why they keep at it. Why stop when they have more to gain.

Simply unsync Ultimate so that everyone who is unable to clear can get the glamour and title they want. That way it is fair for everyone and no one feels excluded with these items. Actually, why not make it a bit easier and simply have a skip option in the raid. When pressed, the battle ends and 2 treasure coffers spawn for all participants. It doesn't affect your gameplay, so I don't see why not.

Because it wouldn't accomplish anything. The types of people willing to buy content clears typically don't have the time or simply want the prestige. Making Ultimate unsync-able later own won't abruptly kill sale interest in future Ultimate because buyers prefer throwing money at what they want than doing it themselves. Nor do they want to wait two years to even attempt killing it. Regardless, the sheer lack of sales overall prevent it from really cheapening the fight whereas unsyncing opens it up to everyone.
