I don't feel terribly confident about this when seeing how poorly all of the ToS violations that could fall under "illicit activity" in general have been handled.

IE, they're still telling us to use the Report RMT function on the spammers in cities because it's supposed to mute them but they've been circumventing that function for years by breaking up their sentences with random symbols.

Considering I both know and know of cheaters, botters and etc who have been playing for years. You'll forgive me if I very little confidence in SE to ever fix it.

The person that got me into FFXIV is a known botter on our server and has been playing since the start of HW. SE sure likes to take their sweet time.

As far as I've heard, the only reason people get banned for botting, hacking, etc is if they specifically mention it in their chat and thus give the GMs some easy evidence they can use to incriminate them.

I can't think of why else the number of weekly bans is starting to be less then the number of offenders I see on Cactaur alone.

They take years for these kinds of bans, seen it happen a few times.
But like they say cut one head and two will rise. Its useless at the pace they "investigate," and the wrist slaps they hand out.

Simply unsync Ultimate so that everyone who is unable to clear can get the glamour and title they want. That way it is fair for everyone and no one feels excluded with these items. Actually, why not make it a bit easier and simply have a skip option in the raid. When pressed, the battle ends and 2 treasure coffers spawn for all participants. It doesn't affect your gameplay, so I don't see why not.

In FFXI a few years ago there used to be pretty constant advertising for spots in fell cleave burns. Basically you paid a bunch of gil to be powerleveled from 30 to 99 while afk. But then SE decided that those kind of shouts were disruptive and usually linked to RMT and started taking action against them. And after that I never saw a single shout for those parties again.

If they really wanted to SE could just say that using the party finder for selling runs is disruptive and probably linked to RMT and ban people who do it.

It is kind of strange how much more competent XI's GM/STF teams seemed compared to XIV.

They obviously weren't perfect, but it's easier to tell that they actually tried to keep things under control.
