So seeing that your MMO world is actually alive and full of people sucks? This is why even if your MMO has '7 million people' it almost never feels like it outside of cities because there's almost no reason to be in the open world other than to travel to an instanced playground if they have no teleport option (they almost always do.)

Though I guess this is just the generation of MMO gamers that hate exploration (open world content btw) ..

no open world = paying for instances. you might as well start being charged for all your shooters and offline games now and stop postponing it. it's like the inevitable future of gaming cause of tards like that like it fast and easy and like to show off there wallets and numbers.

it's kinda like games like final fantasy echoes in time, or mana where they give you tons of little instances for puzzles from just one npc in town rather then scattering them all over the world, it makes them something you don't even truely care about doing. on top this is a mmo so after the first month you'll never go around the world cause the story is done. like i said above it's like a shooter then, hit start do dungeon ..over and over all day. they can charge monthly for marvel vs capcom instead of doing dlc's for the clothes just add a small stat or move to it...wooowooo. no thanks.

because some of us enjoy the competition of open world content. i personally like instances and feel they have a place in a mmo, but i much prefer open world. i enjoy the claiming battles and the killing a mob in front of someone else that was there as well. getting the server first on something in front of another group is alot more exciting than getting it in an instance where they would have to check your lodestone to see that it happened.

I remember that RoV in EQ2 and a bunch of the other dungeons were like this. It worked really, really well.

Now look at what you've done, OP. All the anti-instance folks have come out of the woodworks with their strawman arguments.

You're right, the best solution to MMORPGs are having starting cities and teleports to instances no need for an open-world to exist honestly.

(You know, since arguments against it are 'strawman' even though nothing was misrepresented.)

At least these anti-instance folks, as you labeled them, aren't asking for instances to be removed completely. Believe it or not, some people believe in equality and balance.

Is there really anyone here who wants ONLY instances or ONLY open-world?

I've suggested this too. This is what people want. They don't want to bother leveling up and they don't want to bother with competition. They insist on a hub based game. Remove the need to level up, remove zones, and what do you get? Dungeon crawler fantasy.
There ARE some games like this already. Dragons Nest and Vindictus. You do level up though but it is all dungeons and no exploring.
