Now look at what you've done, OP. All the anti-instance folks have come out of the woodworks with their strawman arguments.

You're right, the best solution to MMORPGs are having starting cities and teleports to instances no need for an open-world to exist honestly.
(You know, since arguments against it are 'strawman' even though nothing was misrepresented.)

I've suggested this too. This is what people want. They don't want to bother leveling up and they don't want to bother with competition. They insist on a hub based game. Remove the need to level up, remove zones, and what do you get? Dungeon crawler fantasy.
There ARE some games like this already. Dragons Nest and Vindictus. You do level up though but it is all dungeons and no exploring.

*follow up sarcasm*

Wait, wait, wait...why is everybody making the word "instance" synonymous with sitting around a city and teleporting directly to an instance? WoW does that but that doesn't mean that it is a fundamental of an instance. Before WoW started doing the whole teleport stuff all their dungeons were still instanced. You had to fly on a gyphon to the nearest area, mount up, ride to the dungeon, go through some mobs and then enter the instance. This is the ideal dungeon.
Open world dungeon makes no sense because everybody will just zerg through all the trash and then compete for the NM pop. Its dumb. Dungeon is only 8 people, and only 8 people can clear through.
Open world should be restricted tojsut NMs and NOT dungeons. The strongholds are boring because of the zergs. and then we get to the NM and you either zerg or its mind numbing competition over a mob all day every 5 mins.
Put Open world NMs, and people outside the claiming party CANNOT hit it. But stay away from the dungeons.
and I REPEAT: INSTANCED DUNGEON DOES NOT MEAN YOU TELEPORT STRAIGHT TO THE DUNGEON FROM A CITY. You use your anima to get to the enarest crystal and then you venture forth through the open world trying to get to the entrance.

It's not the only way to do systems -- However that's exactly what the majority of instanced based MMOs turns into; Hub cities > Teleport to instances. Almost zero interaction with the open world is kept in mind except with the occasional roaming NM or kill quest.
Usually, in RPGs/MMOs you used to have open world dungeons and bosses and raids within those dungeons were instanced, now it's like you have your hub city..then you teleport to an instance, which is usually a dungeon. When even basic Cave systems become instances, that's kind of proof people seemingly have something against a living breathing world.Open world should be restricted tojsut NMs and NOT dungeons
At least these anti-instance folks, as you labeled them, aren't asking for instances to be removed completely. Believe it or not, some people believe in equality and balance.
