And people all over the world can't afford a computer or console to play the game. This game is a luxury and not a need. It sucks you can't afford it, but that's not an issue.I just want to say... I'm disabled and poor. I can hardly afford my sub each month, let alone this cash grab. I feel it is unfair to us all. The prices are just too high. I could understand 5 dollars... but nearly 20? It seems absurd to me. I am someone who doesn't get to choose if I want to buy them or not. The answer is just no, no matter how bad I want it. I can't afford it. Think about us.

The development of the mount wouldn't have happened without the cash shops crew. Sleipnir may have happened eventually, but it wasn't planned in the regular game and the resources to do so came from a different group than the main game.

In all honesty, the pricing doesn't seem that much different from similar item releases in the past. They aren't really testing any waters here. Could be that after that app announcement, they decided to play it a bit safe with the cash shop this time around.

Speculation. We don't know what crews may or may not have happened if a cash shop specific development group wasn't created.
You say that the people who are against the cash shop assume things, but you are doing the same.

It seems to mostly be a case by case thing I've seen with servers and by a small collection of people. From my experience on Sarg thus far, most people only care if Odin is up if they're already in a Hunting LS or in the general area. There have been a decent amount of times where Odin has been up and people have just been like "Meh" and are usually content with doing him once and that's it. Which wasn't always the case with the Fox Lady and Ixion where you had to grind out the rewards if you didn't get everything you wanted in one go, especially for the Ixion mount since it wasn't even possible to get the mount in one FATE alone at first. Of course, that was made easier much later, but you should be able to get my point.Or they were just answering pragmatically? /shrug
I only answered because you quoted me. Your post did mention the trial, yes, but it spoke mostly of the FATE. Which is fine; I was just saying that people never really speculated about it being added to the FATE, but to his trial when it was introduced.
Odin’s FATE had similar DC issues when it was first introduced. Ixion’s and Foxy Lady’s DC problems aren’t really new. The servers themselves just cannot handle that many people loading into one instance at the same time (because they’re massively outdated, I think).
I’m not sure about other servers, but people still show up for Odin on mine, and he (and all other large region FATEs) are still called out in my Hunt LS. I’ve even managed to be his killer and have him show up with my character’s name the next time he spawned. Sadly, I wasn’t online at the time to get a screenshot of that epicness.
Honestly, all in all, it should have been something tied to Odin directly in-game as the final result, but it didn't...and there's not much we can do about it now anymore. :<

I disagree with the idea you couldn't justify it in the past, and disagree with it in the present. Like with wedding prices, ideally that is supposed to be a 1 time thing. But the cost of dyes? outfits? stuff that people will likely want more then one? ... i would advice double checking what is fair, and look at getting higher amount of sales vs costs analyst.Preface: Personal opinion of someone anti-cash shop.
If you've ever justified any of the cash shop, you shouldn't be complaining about this. I, and plenty others, considered everything in the cash shop to be too high to justify. We were told "It's optional, you don't need it." This argument can be applied to anything in the cash shop. $1 was out of our price range of justifiable and we were told to deal with it. You should do the same.
The prices did change, and people are disagreeing with that saying they are too high, I am assuming you also agree with that notion, I think that should be the focus.
not the first time I told them kettle black, glad someone else is doing so for a change.

As I said though, it may have happened eventually but the fact is it was developed by the cash shop group. We will never know the "what if" of that situation. And we also don't know what we lost opportunity wise for eureka.. or for the glamour dresser.. or diadem. I am conjecturing on what information we have and that is: The items in the cash shop were developed for/by the cash shop crew, without that group the items wouldn't have happened when they happened. That's as true a statement as can be made knowing what we know. Is that non-assumptive enough for you?
Also I said that ONE person was assuming the items would have been made. I don't have an opinion of all cash shop opposition.

With my fix, it is acceptable.
Mostly. It's fine for items that were specifically made for the cash shop. There are countless that weren't.

"Countless" is dangerous language, there are most definitely a finite amount of items that aren't cash shop specific.
Event items are a grey area, you missed your opportunity when you weren't subbed during the event, people WERE paying money to be able to get those items in an indirect way. I'll never begrudge anyone who wants something I'm wearing that I got simply because I was playing the game at a certain time but I can see the value in paying a little to get an item you could have gotten if you were already paying the sub. It's sort of a loyalty reward in one respect. True it would cost them next to nothing to lump it into future iterations of events but the minor influx of cash they can get from tagging a price on it year round is not particularly worrying either. People cry about dyes which is weird since there are non-cash alternatives of the exact items. Skipping pots are entirely understandable for a demographic that has more money than time and fantasias which are apparently the gold mine are another time saver: people don't have to re-roll just to have the appearance they want. Both of those items were specifically asked for by the userbase as well.
ultimately in this thread though the concern is are the prices increasing.. which no, they are not. They've followed standards pretty well. Mount isn't anymore expensive than others of its ilk, and the clothes are about the same as others in the same vein.

my biggest gripe is the lack of an account wide option for items. I play multiple characters so the value of purchasing an item for one and only one character doesn't justify the price.
