As a new player, right from the start, you are generally being 'rushed' through the dungeons. No time to explore, no time to stop and read things or even go into side rooms for treasure chests, everyone else is off way ahead of you. And then.... you get to in-dungeon cutscenes.

I'll watch the cutscene because it's important and I'm here for the story, but I'll be thinking all the while that everyone else is waiting for me, and potentially getting annoyed because I've brought their run to a halt. The longer the scene goes on, the worse the feeling gets.

(Either that or they potentially just start without me, and I start seeing 'battle dialogue' and lockout warnings over the video. Used to be the problem in the ARR finale, mostly avoided in later dungeon designs but it still happened at the final boss of Rabanastre.)

I care about what others are thinking, and don't want to be inconveniencing them. But I'm torn between that and getting the story experience that I can only get 'for the first time' once.

I'm sure it depends on personality type and some people just don't care about that, but I do. And I can't make myself not worry, because I would feel bad about "not caring about others".
