    If you buy gear from a player then you have less gils, but the amount of gils in the game is the same.

    that, my friend, is the exact definition of a gil sink. you do not give the gear to the npc losing money over what you spent, but you blow up the gear and materia and have nothing at all to show for it.
    I didn't say to give the npc the gear. I said to give the npc the gils.
