Hokay, so, Gath was reading the changes to ARC and the skills for BRD and Gath was quite happy.
What made Gath happy was the fact that the buffs reflect a variety of effects opposed to a bunch of single focused effects. Giving an HP boost along with boosting "certain" magic effects. This makes it so the micro-managing of songs doesn't leave the average fellow confused at who gets what, it makes it so you buff everybody without splitting the party up.
Hokay, Gath will now speculate on a scenario.
We have ourselves a full party, the setup doesn't matter, all that matters is that my awesomeness as a BRD is there. Well, Gath want's to make sure everything is running like a well oiled machine, so, he decides that he wants to bust out his Barp and buff the party. Now, since the buffs are going to be how they are, everybody practically get's the same buffs, apart form the mages getting the TP Regen and Melee getting MP regen (Cept. for MNK).
Gath buffs the whole party with the basic buffs, and splits one song between the melee and the casters (Regain and TP Regen). Hokay, apart form wasting the whole time running back and forth Gath decides to pull out a couple defensive SCs. With the additional effects that certain SC applies upon completion of the skill.
Hokay, with all of this, Gath realized that BRD won't be a power house of DMG, but it will provide the necessary buffs and defensive capabilities to help keep the party topped off.
Will BRD necessarily be easy to play? Let's hope not. It looks like it will be a vital piece to the party makeup like in FFXI, but, without the helplessness of not being able to do some sort of damage because of being tied up with songs.
This all depends on how the CD's and the timer on the buffs are, but, even if it is the typical 3-5 minutes we have now it can still be extremely viable if play right.
Now, Gath has blessed the forums with a post, and now he will recede his awesome so your brains don't overload.
Gath's 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil.
