I still wonder if they'll ever implement something like Daily Quests or Hunts to Eureka to make things at least more enjoyable, give an alternative to Zerging everything. Grinding anything that doesn't spawn a NM is pointless.

My impression is that this step is about accessing the situation and getting the aethernet working again. So when we find out more we'll be given far more direct and decisive tasks in the future.
While I do enjoy Eureka I admit it would be very dull if each step was like the first.
hm to the people that say look how many people on jp forums dont like it the only thing i see is that a small percentage of the playerbase think eureka is bad
i am level 8 now and i personally still enjoy it

I don't mind something that needs a lot of time or be grindy as Euraka is as long as the reward reflects the pain doing it.
As it is now the Relic will be already outdated once we get it. What's the point doing something like this when the weapon will be useless in just 1 month or even less.
Yoshi needs to rethink XIV's gear progression.
On the positive side of things. Well they tried to do something with Eureka. It's the only content in this game that feels really dangerous and a whole FC can participate.
I like how everyone needs to work with all the rest to do it. It needs some fixes though.
Like please for the love of Hydealyn pls fix the graphic engine issue where it can't display more than X amount of objects/NPCs despite having the hardware to do so.
NM's are disappearing in front of you and party members as well making it really difficult to target a party member. NMs and party members must be top priority to display then all the rest of objects/NPCs/PCs.

Good old moving goalposts. It happens every time people try to offer feedback, apparently even in a thread asking for first impressions.
"It's only a preview, we don't even have the details yet."
"It's only patch notes, you haven't even tried it in game."
"It's only been a few days, wait until we discover everything / the population stabilizes / hotfixes are applied."
...eventually culminating in:
It is not worth responding to anyone who tries to dismiss feedback based on when it was given, because there will always be someone who thinks it's the wrong time for feedback.

Only after page 6 have you the recent impressions since before that was before the release. So please show me a handfull of truly positive posts that have at least these amount of likes. I did not translate the smaller ones with barely any likes, maybe those are positive? But if only a couple of them are even liked and those negative ones have a high amount doesnt that just show that they are more negative?
Oh Savage was cleared in one day too its probably easy right? And didnt the relic itself always get finished by some in a few days or even one? These who are already at lvl 20 and have the weapon are those that plays a really big amount of time. You cant simply say that this is a good way to show that its easy. (And lets not forget that the relic gear set is part of the relic quest too, so maybe we will see how long it takes someone to get both of them on max level)
The lvl 20 NM seems to need a specific weather and time to spawn so this is not for casuals. You need a huge amount of luck to be online when those two are meet.
And yet people that like it are allowed to just judge it at first glance? Why must one side play it for x hours before being allowed to dislike it and others can just post that they liked it after being there once and thats fine? Its not that its unworthy but the problem is that some of those that like it seemingly post in there to say that WE have no right to complain, that WE should play it a longer time to judge, that WE do it wrong somehow because we dont enjoy it or more. Some of those posters in here say that hating on it is a meme. You also said that its bad that people judge it on their first impressions even though this is the thread for first impressions..and a lot of use also have done more than one run and still dislike it.
Not everyone has to run it x times to see if its something for them to like or not. And yet those are just told that they are not allowed to be negative about because of that. It really feels more that some (not everyone!) does not accept that content that they like is not very well liked on the forum and thus see it somehow as a personal attack. Its not!

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
The only reason I am bothering with this is because I am afraid SE will lock actually good stuff behind this, and being left behind in Eureka level wise seem to be a awful proposition. This is such a lackluster experience and, to no ones surprise, degenerated quickly into NM zerging being the most efficient way of doing things.

Look, I tried it for 15 minutes of fighting, and... it didn't really hook me. Granted, it was just a white mage and me. Probably would have been better if I had been in a larger group. But I absolutely hate the whole "lfg I'm a blah blah blah..." schtick. Dunno why they couldn't just group people up as we head on in.
Let's be real here, nothing really changes at any level in this content. If someone is already friggin bored by level 2, what makes you think they wouldn't be at level 20? You'll still be doing the exact same thing; farm trash until FATE appears, kill FATE, repeat. Not even our playstyle changes as we level, because we're still "level 70" the entire way through. When we level normally we at least get new abilities and such and have to alter our rotations to remain optimal as we progress. Here, your rotation never changes, your abilities remain constant, everything remains stagnant. It's just plain uninspired, and there is no sugarcoating that.Read my whole post. I said loads of people complained when they had no clue about the most efficient way to play. Some of these people had no clue how fates spawned.
My point is a lot of players complained about content when they didn't even know how it worked. And that was very annoying to see.
Sometimes in video games, at low levels you don't have much you can do but you at least know that as you progress you will have other sorts of activities to look forward to. Here, you don't even get that. It's the same farm trash, kill NM cycle.

I was pretty skeptical at first, but the more I play of it, the more I enjoy it. Hunting NMs with a group of friends is a lot of fun. It's pretty obvious that solo play isn't really viable though.
