You got the last bit right. Do your own thing - because you've left all your mates behind and joined a server with no active FCs. If I were to transfer it would be to a medium population server where I'd be forced to convert all my gil to crafting materials/materia and then back again afterwards. That was about two weeks of faff last time around and I have almost three times the gil now. Not worth the effort.

Cross Server PF is a thing. You're the one who wants housing in a place that is flooded with people with similar goals, vs going to other places where its available.

I think we're getting off topic here anyway. The real problem is the lack of housing. I accept that you don't want more because you want to be a special snowflake having something other people can't have, let's just leave it at that.
