Hey unfortunately when your items are placed into the glamour dresser/armoire CLASS RESTRICTIONS STILL APPLY. I thought these restrictions were removed once the item was placed into the dresser, but this is not the case, and this needs to change if squeenix wants to keep up with their biggest competitors such as Guild Wars 2 and World Of Warcraft (both these games have no class restrictions for glamour)

This is incorrect. On Guild Wars 2 you unlock the visuals (aka skins) of the equipments you discover along the way, but if you use Heavy armor, you can only glamour heavy armor skins on it.
And the same goes for World of Warcraft. You can't use the transmog system to make your Mail gear look like a Leather piece. So yes, both of those games do have "class" restrictions for glamour. You're just forgeting the fact Guild Wars 2 and Warcraft don't alow you to play one single character with all the classes unlocked for it.

That being said, as far as glamour goes, GW2 requires you to use Transmutation Charges, that are far from cheap (only being obtainable through heavy farming or cash shop only), and THAT is the actual glamour. What are you referring to is the Cash Shop skins that just override gear that you're using, but you have a set amount of skins available, and their pieces are not interchangeable. So in regards to those, everyone looks the same with different colors.

On the Warcraft side, you have interchangeable pieces of gear you can glamour, sure. But no dye system. And as said above, you ARE restricted by the type of gear you are using. You might be a Shaman and have access to Cloth, Leather and Mail, but you can only glamour the pieces that you are using with their respective type of armor design.

I know this Glamour dresser isn't perfect, but let's stop pretending that any other game ever created have better glamour implemention, because they all have flaws in their own way. Final Fantasy's is just a first step, and I am sure there's a lot that is going to improve.

I hate to say this but ugh... they should make it like FFXI. As long as you have the job leveled, you can use that piece of glamour on another job. This is only in regards of the cross-glamouring.

I am pretty sure they will make this whole glamour dresser thing better with time and it's going to end up being the default choice. So all we can do as a community is address what we don't like about it with criticism that isn't based on rage. They first started with getting rid of the grades of glamour prisms, then they made all glamour prisms obtainable through the grand companies, now they shoved all types of prisms into one single thing and added the dresser. It's pretty clear that SE is slowly wanting to make the whole glamour system less of a hassle. I do think the execution of the system is flawed, however I can see the many ways in which it can improve and end up being what so many people want it to be.

Just think of the dresser as a beta version of a big, better system that is yet to be implemented in future patches. Not 100% what people expected, but also not too far from it.

Thank you, I completely agree. I'm not a coder, or sure as hell a programmer. but these kind of restrictions are tedious and frustrating... Maybe they will implement what you've said since it already existed in the previous final fantasy MMO. HOPE <3

Same restriction as the old system, because it's ultimately just applying the same glamours by a different method, with the same rules as to whether they display or not.

so if I play a PLD and a DRG, I can't share the PLD set across both classes, it will just turn off the glamour when I go DRG?

Hey no I'm not forgetting that ofc, the thing is you get way more fashion options in GW2 and WoW for plate/cloth/leather armors which INDEED made me forget that they also have fashion restrictions . Since you can have beautiful non-casual/non-immersion breaking cloth-like gear when you're a warrior for example in GW2 if you don't have the skins from cash shop (seriously the Nord culture plate armor for females IS NOT PLATE MAIL LOL SO MUCH CLOTH).

Thank you for correcting me, ill have to use different MMO examples such as RIFT, Blade and Soul, SWTOR and Perfect World International that do have a universal fashion wardrobe, albeit with minimal race restrictions instead of class. I've never said every mmo besides FF14 has better fashion systems. But there are some MMOs with much lower budgets that trump FF14 in this category. I hope it will get better... the budget for this game is high so it probably will

Honestly I do feel like the only reason to why our system is so complicated to work with glamours is the fact Final Fantasy might be the only MMO (as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong) that allows you to have every single class in the game with the same character. So, in theory, your SCH set and your WHM set count as two different characters that happen to be using the same gear. Lifting that restriction might require a type of coding that can be troublesome. On other games, the "glamour layer" works on a "If equiped with A, overlay as B". But on our current system that would have to be coded as "If equiped with A, overlay as B, unless class is set to X, then overlay as C". Limitations. The whole glamour problem wouldn't be that much of an issue if you could only pick one class per character, instead of having one character with 25 classes.
