They can't do that without creating 'super users' who are now immune to the rules that the rest of the population are bound to and they can never own multiple houses like those users. It would be a PR nightmare. All they need to do is let alts TP to your main's house and use the facilities.

You dont need to create super users, you just put the rules into effect when people buy a house or want to join an fc with an alt. They could leave existing house owners and people in fc's alone

Anyone grandfathered in to be immune to the rules that are being implemented is by default some kind of 'super user'. They own multiple houses in a game where the rules now say you can't do that, and noone else will *ever* be able to be like them ever no matter what circumstances. Sounds like a special player to me.

What's unfair is people owning more than one house in these circumstances. Pay the owners gil worth the plot and unrecoverable assets and let them pick which house they want to keep.

I understand where you are coming from, belive me. But those poeple WERE allowed to purchase multiple houses and maybe didn't think anything bad of it, since it was in their good right and it's what brings them joy.
Back in the day, housing was much more expensive and it took a lot more work to afford a house.. while now, almost everyone can gain enough Gil to buy one just for the sake of "fairness".

You might be able to compensate the worth of the plot with enough Gil but what about the time and care that went into the houses? I know how invested some people are in stuff like that and I belive that it will make them really sad to give something up they've probably owned for a long time.

If they don't remove houses from people who own multiples when these rules go live or have a system in place to force relinquish you are left with a core group of 'elite' service accounts who are objectively better than any service account who does not own more than 1 house, because housing in this game is directly tied to power. Until they add a universal gardening plot somewhere and an airship hangar where anyone can perform these activities regardless of being homeless or not, these elite service accounts are actively hurting the community and barring players from content they could do if they owned a house.

Well said before, what if the legally small 4 man fc (no alts) that owns a house suddenly loses a member? That would make it a 3 man fc would they take away the house despite them not being allowed to own one under the rules?

Sairys, i believe you but that sounds stupid from SE.
So quickly creating a rank 6 fc wouldnt help if i leave my main in my fc. I hadnt thought of that yet.
Also it would mean leaving the fc one of my alts is in. It would also affect a few of my friends who have alts in other house owning fc's
I would understand if they impliment that for characters newly joining an fc but SE should leave existing ones alone

It's why I said unfortunate, cause it sucks that people who are part of multiple fcs that are active and not just to hold a house are being hit.

But if they don't then it'd just fall back to what we have now, people would create a bunch of house fcs, get the four people in, buy the house, and then reduce numbers back to 1. (Assuming cause there was no mention of a malus for dropping under 4 members.)

At absolute worst, with this rule someone could have two houses to themselves, but it'd also lock them out of any fc with a house... which more than ever will have.

I wont quit over this, so wont create one of those threads
But it has put my mood level in the basement. I could retain it but would have to sell it to my second account character, leaving me out of 40m gil just to keep what i got.

What if you have an alt on a different server that has a house? Would you be barred from housing on a different server?

I thought plots relinquished by their owners cannot be purchased for a limited time?

Nah, I think your approach on this might be a bit too agressive, not to be rude. Or maybe it's better to say that it seems that you look only at the facts while I try to take emotional factors into account.

But...housing is tied to power? How exactly? You mean as some kind of status symbol? Or just because of the gardening stuff?
I honestly belive they _will_ add gardening to appartements in the future though, again for those famous 'fairness' purposes. But while this is just one of my stupid hopes, I still think as mean as it may sound to you, that it should be handeled 'first come, first served'.

The fact that poeple could own more that one house existed since they decided to implement personal housing. So, it existed for years. And I don't think it will throw the balance off as much as you think it will. But again...you can just say those are simply my assumptions. (Also sorry for my english, it's not my mother tounge and I hope you can still understand where I'm coming from with this)
