So install a parser. I believe as long as you aren't harassing people about their DPS numbers, devs have a "don't ask, don't tell" approach.
It will happen once people will use existing threads instead of making their own all the time. (which is never lol)
I think it should be a part of combat log. I wouldn't mind seeing improvements to it to be honest.
If SE want to put a parser, they would by now. Good devs don't though. Why? Because it's a restriction to how they can change or design fights. Think a boss who will hit harder if you hit them hard or reactively put up shields. Sure -you- get better but your party won't and take the hit. They would anyway if your only purpose is getting better on damage. Good dancing > 2 bigger left feet.
It's a team mode, anything personal isn't good. And most importantly, this is a video game. It's all assigned numbers, you're not supposed to get better. Michael Jordan never beat himself, just ask EA.
What? Personal dmg adds to overall group dmg am I just missing something here?
You're assuming party performance equates to party damage, that's not what dancing is scored by, not always or defined by it. Ever wonder how they put rng in the loot roll for some fights, or why does the boss have random order of actions? Giving the numbers when its tied to performance will give away any kind of -seemingly- RNG mechanic. When that happens devs can only resort to pure RNG for their next content. Suffice to say I'm not going to gamble or pay for any kind of gambling content.
I play on PS4, so unless there's a method I am unaware of, installing a 3rd party parser isn't really an option for me. I would really love to have a personal one in game though; it's pretty crushing for me to think I have my rotation down and everything, only to be told that I'm not doing enough DPS...
That does nothing for PS4 players, who can not install a parser on their system. They have no way of gauging their damage in a fight.
