SE has already put tools in place to fix this. There are vendors in every city that sell 1-60 normal gear. There is ZERO reason to not have current ilvl equipment.

That is not e a fix, people still enter places undergeared, and dealing with the drama is a headache. No matter how light it is, we need ilevel requirements, people wear gear that pretty much makes it impossible to clear. I seen .. recently, I think it was the tank complaining about the healers gear and flat out told the healer, you are undergeared, just spam heals, and the person couldn't even press 11111 fast enough. So I ended up agreeing to the kick and the other DPS was talking crap, like how it was a, some kind of insult, move to kick them, even though the healer was making the run impossible to clear.

I am sick in seeing people act like you need to put up with this and carry people just because the game lets you enter it. That is why ilevel requirements are needed, because people think just because it allows you to enter it, means you can clear it. If people are going to act like this, the dev team needs to give more handholding, if they are trying to appeal to people that do not know better.

Also apparently it costs too much for some people.

it is a fix. if people cant be bothered to go to a vendor and spend minimal amounts of gil then they wont be bothered to wear hodgepodge gear to meet ilevel requirements or just quit the game citing "nothing to do". just doing story quests you can keep your gear updated easily. if people arent doing that, then they either have never played a MMO in their life until now or just intentionally gimping themselves to troll people. games like WoW can have an ilevel requirement because they give you a full set of that gear within the first few half dozen starter quests. Unfortunately SE doesnt really do that. And if the off chance that maybe they dont know there is a vendor that sells gear, I think there should be a quest that alerts new players to this fact, especially in ARR/HW content.

Just the other day I saved a group in Sohm Al on my alt. Supposedly the healer didn't bother gearing up since 40s. My augmented ironworks was very well received.

That really depends on where you are in the game. I'm gearing same alt for the Vault by running sidequests. It is a royal pain in the neck and completely unintuitive. Just running through the Aery once and MSQing would net me about 4 on-level pieces. That's not enough.

Yes, I think it would be helpful if they did this. If someone is leveling a job that they didn't have gear raining from the sky for while going through the msq, they might just not realize what they have on is a little too low for the next thing they are trying to queue for or might not stop to think of the potential that they'll end up in something they are undeargeared for if doing a roulette. Personally I'd much rather have the game tell me I need to up my ilevel then allow me into something where I'm basically useless.
