I agree with the OP, if someone likes the playstyle of a class that happens to be a tank, of course they want to play that class. You should not be forced to play something you don't like as much just because you are not min-maxing in peoples' dungeons/raids.

OP isn't talking about that though. If you go to the 43 page thread they mention, no where in there does anyone say anything about min/maxing. It's literally just people saying to do your best and not just the bare minimum, and for some reason the OP and other people are blowing it way out of proportion.

They'd cast more healing spells. I don't see the problem.

Back when the healer forums ran rampant with threads about healer dps, a common reason for healers not dpsing was that they [felt like they] didn't have time to dps because of all the healing they had to do. If the healing requirements increase, those same healers likely won't be able to adapt.

Well, the reason is obvious...they only want to do the bare minimum and let everyone else do the work for them.

Anyone who suggests that you should put some effort in and at least try to push yourself (even if its just trying to keep your dot up between heals, or switching stances for a few GCDs when you feel its safe on a boss) is an elitist and is ruining your game.

There was absolutely nothing rude about anything they mentioned. They also not once, made any kind of comment about how you are a leech or questioning your play style. What she said actually happens and there people with that exact mentality, I'm not sure why you are taking a factual and general statement about a small portion of the community as some kind of personal attack on what kind of player you are. I think you should dial back on reacting so defensively to general statements that in no way, shape or form were directed at you, just a thought.
