    They would have to give a percentage that would be a violation. Perhaps 200% or more mark up from default listing for plot+house would be 'too much' for example. Especially once you consider the player buying has to pay a player to vacate and then buy it from the server.

    I guarantee there is something in the TOS that could easily be twisted or interpreted to say its a violation. Almost every one of those things has something along the lines of "Any action that is not intended by the developers and/or company is in violation" that can be used as a catch all. One of the few times I got in trouble on an official forum I was told to read the forum rules. The rules seemed fine until the last one said "Anything that the moderation team deems as a violation of policy is subject to action." which basically means "if the mods don't like a thing they can do what ever they want about it."

    YOU AGREE THAT YOUR FFXIV SERVICE ACCOUNT AND ANY VIRTUAL GOODS AND CHARACTERS DO NOT HAVE ANY MONETARY VALUE. This would not change the problem itself which is the amount of housing.

    Also it seems that they consider apartments with different sizes and I really hope that the older ones can be changed too but who knows how long that will take. ^^;

    There are a lot of different points that are not exactly mentioned in the ToS since you cant list every single thing in this. For example kicking someone for a different playstyle is allowed, yet this is nowhere seen in the options when you kick the player. Also them saying that selling with profit is forbidden kinda implies that at least that part is against the ToS. At the same time why do people need to sell their house? If you dont want it anymore just wait till the timer is over and one can get back 80% of your Gil. If you want a different house you can have the move feature now and if you just buy it to sell it..well that player is exactly part of the housing problem and should be punished. In the end every time you sell a house just for the initial price the buyer will have to pay at least double the price than normal and also hope that nobody snatches it up until he get it. So if you have no system in the game that allows for an easy selling (like an auction) and you need to do it in the way right now, makes it feel like its not intended to happen that way.

    This is the ongoing suspicion. Basically people 'rolling need' on available plots. This can introduce multiple problems. One being if they require you put gil down just to roll on each plot you could be limited in how many tries people get. "I'm almost completely broke because I rolled on 15 houses, so i cant buy squat until they determine who won." So far there is nothing stated about preventing individual players being capable of getting multiple houses through alts.

    If they insist on doing some sort of lottery/rolling system I would hope it works like this:
    • You can roll on as many plots as you want.
    • First they determine who won large plots, then medium, then small.
    • If you win a roll, all subsequent rolls are null (kind of like rolling on equipment in alliance raids).
    • If the winner doesn't 'claim' their win in 24(?) hours it goes to the next highest roll.
    • All rolls are kept anonymous to prevent misuse. Such as the winner offering not to claim their plot if next in line wants to give them some sort of payment for it.
    • Most importantly, but not likely, people who have accounts that own a house on that server are prohibited from rolling at all to ensure more individual players can take part in the housing system.

    This is up to the GM.. I had a friend banned for 2 days for kicking someone in potd..cause as they said there play style wasn't the same 3 wanted speed runs 1 didnt they kicked the 1 and the guy who started the vote got banned for 2 days by a gm for kicking some who wasn't afk lol.... Since theres no differnt play style option you have to lie about the reason you kick which opened it up to the gm choice and since my friend was a hot head he got banned for miss use of the kicking system by lieing

    @Siniztor: Well if they choose "afk" as a reason I kinda can understand that the person got banned because the other one was not afk. But thats the problem with the whole system. You will have GMs that are of that opinion and you will have others that would be fine with it. I just wish that there would be a concrete guideline for them to act on so that something like that wont happen.

    @Scardon: I agree with you. I just fear that this is exactly the system that we will get since the Japanese playerbase seems to be behind it..thus there is a big chance that they will listen to just their feedback..in the end this does not solve the problem that some people might just never get a house. (So it would just be another band aid..)Also if you can bid on more than one house you will have a way bigger chance to get them if you have lots of Gil. This would give botters and resellers quite the good chance to continue doing their thing.

    A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

    You have valid points, however people who want to sell do it most likely (if not a flipper) to get back their investment, nothing weird about that.
    And I agree waiting on demo timer is the "intended" way but having to wait 45 days just to regain it is too long if you going to say move server or no longer wanting it whatever .

    I don't understand why we can't just remove our house and regain our 80% instead of having to wait 45 days (which is on hold right now too) but i'm guessing SE go to answer to that suggestion is "RMT"

    Ohhh i agree i don think GM should have any room to make it a case by case in any report there needs to be a stright forward hard line rules on every thing from reason to kick to house sellers to spam

    Oh course my 1 warning i got was from a GM who was hardline rule follower lol.. I went to the bathroom came back and my cat had laid on my wireless keyboard and was on letters n the enter button spamed limsa chat with like 1 long wall of giggerish lol i even apologized in say and shout chat at the time in limsa but someone reported me..the GM even said i see where ya said it was your cat lol still got a warning on my record for life for cat spam lol

    Same old Excuses

    It's a shame and the same old excuses/argument from players who think it's okay to make a 7 million gil profit, to relinquish and give up property (let's say a cottage) to a willing buyer. That's it's okay to sell for gil the "rights" to demolish and give up property to line your pockets, which IS against ToS. It's exploitation of using a system, other than how SE had initially intended. To say it's not a ToS violation, because it doesn't name the virtual item specifically in the User Agreement, is just another lame excuse.

    All virtual items are the property of SE and they make the rules for them. You don't get to change the wording in the ToS or interpret them into a whole other meaning to justify a violation that is crystal clear. Sorry. I'm glad they are coming down harder on players doing this.

    honestly, i gave a plot away to a friend that wanted it and was recently married In Game and out of Game (they were a couple in and out of game) as a wedding gift because we've known each other since i started playing. they asked if they could have every bit of furniture to go with it...i charged them for the furniture. I put my mats and crafts into those items and some of it was GC items.

    They wanted to pay me for the plot, and I said 'no', then asked if the contents came with and I went "lemme tally up how much it's worth on the MB for the items inside". I charged them 75% of MB price for the interior/exterior items.
