Request: Hempen Garb - Racial Unlock

There has been quite a lot of interest in this (including from me); having the hempen outfits unlocked by race. Some people feel inclined to fantasia if not choose a race outright based on glamour; it's silly and extreme I know but choosing things based on best glamour really is a thing. I would like to propose we get rid of this issue all together, in order to let people simply choose which style they would like to use in order to promote people looking how they want without having to make a choice because of "Fashion." We all know glamour is the real end-game content, so I would like to see peoples choices expanded to promote choosing their way, instead of having biases based on fashion selection.

No they should stay just the way they are. The different races should have unique clothes that identifies them by race. Want to wear their clothes make an alt.

All races HAVE identifying markers already based on character creation. It makes no logical sense to lock clothing and hair styles behind a race. By that same logic, we should no longer have access to any "Far East" styles because our characters (excluding Au Ra) are from Eorzea.

They previously said that they were looking in to doing exactly this, so all we can do is wait. The debate was in quite a long thread about the topic.

Oh sorry I don't agree. They should look different in many ways. You won't change my mind. I get it you want their clothes. That might happen but I sincerely hope not. If anything I would like to see more racial locked gear and not less.

It's an impasse I won't ever cross with you. I get it you glamour restrictions create variety but they really don't. 100 miqo'te wearing the same thing isn't any more varied because Au Ra are denied wearing that same thing.

I want to see less restrictions, not more, and like you my mind will not be changed here.

At this point I doubt it. They don't want to "waste" resources adapting old gear to all races in the same way they don't want to do it with the hairstyles. Will be great but Yoshida always say that he prefer to use his resourcer on new stuff.

Q5.) Any plans to remove the restrictions on haircuts?
A5.) Some hairstyles we want to keep race specific as part of race identity. However, others will be unlocked on other races eventually. Please look forward to it!
