OP here. I would like to chime in after reading all of this. I understand some people's opinions that some items should be more racially specific; however, for certain instances it should not be. An example where it would be appropriate was in Guild Wars 2; there was racial gear that was tailored to the lore and the culture of each unique race (i.e. Norn having antlered helms leather armor mixed with metal, over sized because the race is large in stature and muscular because of the harsh environment, and designs befitting of their "Druidic/One with nature culture."). Undergarments made of cloth don't fit such criteria in my opinion. A skilled tailor from any race would be able to replicate/tailor such articles of clothing; as opposed to a smith or tanner that is skilled with their people's methodologies that have been passed down and are guarded to fit their people's needs.
If it makes those with dissenting opinions tolerant; they could just as well make a new article of clothing that fits the other races under a different name, such as "Tailored Highlander Hempen Camise."
