Request: Hempen Garb - Racial Unlock

I support any change that allows my midlander to wear the Miqote version of the Hempen Camise.

No they should stay just the way they are. The different races should have unique clothes that identifies them by race. Want to wear their clothes make an alt.

Does racial identity really matter when some clans don’t even have culturally appropriate hempen garb anyway? Raen get distinctly Xaela outfits, for instance. And there’s a huge number of potential origins for most races at this point in the world’s development that it’s absurd to say that generic Eorzean peasant garb is particularly representative of many characters. For these characters other clothing is already more racially identifying so does it really matter if other races get to wear race locked gear?

For Highlanders in particular, their hempen undershirts are so characteristically Highlander that they get a mention in the Encyclopedia Eorzea, and dozens and dozens of Highlander NPCs wear them rather than something else. So those probably shouldn't be unlocked for other races. Male Au Ra and Elezen undershirts are pretty unique too (Au Ra actually wear that under anything?), but many of the rest seem to belong to other races already, so I don't see any reason not to make the rest more widely available.

As long as you're aware that in the game world, it has religious significance for Highlanders. Suppose it's possible for a non-Highlander character to be raised in such a way that they'd also have a similar religious reason to wear it.
