I've been watching this topic for some time. More than anything, let's not forget that the OP grit his teeth and pulled it off. Sometimes, you've just gotta do that. Doesn't mean the content needs adjusting. It means you need to make more effort. And they did. And they cleared it. To me, the topic ends there.
As for the rest, well, I can understand the reasoning of couples that play together. But! Assuming you spend all that time together in game, it wouldn't, and shouldn't kill you to have to do things on your own at times, and that's neither a hinderance of your enjoyment, nor a forced circumstance. It's just the way it is. The story is about you, your character alone. Your relationship status or who you play with or how much you play with them is irrelevant. I personally have thrived and enjoyed the game both when I was playing with a relationship partner, and alone, and never felt at a loss either way.
For those beginning to throw the "elitist" term around, stop. You're not only using it out of context, you're using it as a means to try and discredit people making valid points. We're level 70 now. When SHOULD it become a challenge? The devs have nearly rolled over a full 360 degrees to make content accessible and able to be cleared, but some challenge is and should be expected, especially 2 expansions later. Someone noted the echo had no effect on being able to clear it: that's because the Echo wasn't a failure buff this time. It was both immersion, and the "accessibility" from the devs. I'd imagine there was probably a harder version of this in development but they were told "it's too hard for the common player". Please note: I said common, not casual. Let that further quell any talk of elitism once and for all. That aside, this was a main scenario quest at level 70, and designed to be a situation where you need to act fast to save people. Act fast to save people. Make some effort! You're level 70 now. No one should need to do any handholding or whatnot for you to be able to perform basic maneuvers in a timely fashion. I've seen people fidget and run around faster just being impatient before a pull.
The rest, honestly, is white noise. MSQ throws a curveball every now and then, but not to the extremes of being unbeatable, as the OP themselves has proven. Reliance on another player is required for so much other content in this game that I think it's perfectly acceptable to require you to - again - perform the most basic maneuvers on your own at times. If you can't manage that, how can you expect to do more than that in a group setting, especially where failure to do your part will affect others as well?
