How about fun? Grinding a dungeon dozens of time is not fun. If anything, that would make me unsub sooner. All this is doing is making me burn out quicker.

Why ask a question you already know the answer to? For the reward at the end.
Why do people grind MGP? Is it because they like the gold saucer mini games? No, not necessarily. They want the rewards you can buy with them. The difference is that the grind there is guaranteed to get you something and is less monotonous. While grinding dungeons, is the opposite.

So the thing that makes it fun for you is chasing the reward but you dont want to actually chase the reward?
I'd link you to the mogstation but im on mobile and honestly don't feel like going through the effort to sass you that hard. Maybe later.
Maybe if I could actually eventually get the reward yeah. There's a chance of never getting the reward I'm chasing for. That's not exactly good design.
Everything else has a failsafe so you can eventually get the reward with enough effort. 99 totems for extreme primal mounts, savage books, tomes, and so on.
Not sure why you're defending this so hard when it's obvious improvements can be made. Just even adding another gear piece at the end like others have mentioned.
FFXIV isn't one of those Korean free to play MMOs that need to keep their players by locking stuff behind ridiculous grinds that can potentially never yield the reward they're looking for.
Nightmare, the ponies, 24man loot and gear all say "hi" primal dogs til at least 4.2 or 4.3 as well.Maybe if I could actually eventually get the reward yeah. There's a chance of never getting the reward I'm chasing for. That's not exactly good design.
