Really? So your basing your opinion on other people's opinions or just guessing? I could be wrong but that sound ridiculous to me.
Anyway, WoW and FFXIV are two - if not the two - 'old-school' (inasmuch as the new-old school post-WoW) successful subscription MMOs left. They offer similar things. FFXIV plays like old WoW – some people will prefer that to new WoW. The changes being made/being discussed will move it towards a more modern iteration of the WoW's core game play. Some will like that, some won't.
