    Considering heavy thrust is basically like those GCD DOTs that got removed (but even less interesting as there's no multi-target interaction with it), I'm surprised it didn't get rolled intro Impulse Drive (which currently is just 'another' True Thrust, but for a different combo line - no real reason to exist really) and then be done with it.

    It has no mechanics with stacking or anything like that, and just has the on/off state. The actual buff itself could easily be rolled into the potencies of all skills and abilities too. It's the poster child of being a 'bloat' ability which didn't get removed in the 'remove bloat' update.

    I was shocked heavy thrust wasn't removed in 4.0 for button bloat. I mean if "lower skilled" players was the reason for the changes in 4.1 then they could have removed true thrust and impulse drive, then made full thrust the combo opener for both combos. Change the potency to 170 (200 on flank) and call it good.

    Maybe by nerfing heavy thrust it may be on its way out eventually. Probably by next expansion. Between that, keeping disembowel up and and multiple positional to keep max damage, something is bound to go eventually but I like the high skill ceiling of the job personally. Just get good don't make it fool proof to play

    so... when i have the dragon gaze ready, if i pop BOTD, then use GK to turn it into LOTD, then jump, then SSD, would the BOTD buff still affect jump and SSD in LOTD?

    LOTD is basically BOTD with the difference being that it's red and it unlocks Nastrond. You don't lose BOTD buffs when you enter LOTD.

    Yeah I'm surprised Vorpal Thrust wasn't replaced with Heavy Thrust in the FT combo and then HT's positional removed. Basically making it like Maim.

    I would of made it that being in LotD would increase overall damage or maybe increase jump potency even more.

    Not necessarily. Actually, in a ST fight like v1 or v2 it's probably better to activate it around 70 seconds like in 4.0 to benefit from b4b. In other instances it really depends on adds phases. Now we can pretty much decide exactly when we want to activate lotd without having to sacrifice eyes. This is good.
    Funny thing is, they probably made drg more complex because eyes/geirskogul management is much less straightforward now.
