Positivity about housing!

Unfortunately the number of contented ones is equivalent to the number of plots available. We were planning to relocate the FC, both my partner and myself paid 40$ for a cab out of the city and back to our home during peak hour because we heard there were issues with the patch, 15$ on food delivery since we didn't have time to even take away, had 2 PCS set up and was ready to camp for houses, only to be booted out and by the time we got back all plots were gone within 2 mins. I'm perfectly fine with some competition, but to be at the mercy of technical instability, poor planning and plenty of luck this entire experience hasn't been good.

We were very prepared, memorised all the plot numbers and the closest aether (every single one) have good fiber w/ 450-500mb/s with 0-10 ping from the server and had two pcs on GTX1080Ti, logged in without even missing a second and got booted out due to congestion. After all the preparations, not even a shot at it because we got kicked out twice.


While I'm glad you got what you wanted, this thread might be counter productive. I can really accept it if improvements have been made over the years and if there was enough preparations for this, but in all honesty in all of the wards release, what really changed?

My boyfriend exhausted himself staying up all night on a work night, planning and mapping out routes and suffering horrible anxiety the whole time, and barely managed to get something while hundreds of others weren't able to.

It's awesome we actually managed to get one, but what kind of horrible system in what is supposed to be a fun video game encourages this type of thing?

This x100. I have terrible anxiety but am usually able to control it. This housing business ate at me. I haven't slept well in days. Video games shouldn't cause that. Buying a house in a video game...definitely not. I feel for your boyfriend, I honestly do. I hope we are both able to relax soon.

I mean, our FC just planned a route and agreed that if we dont get our transfer to Shirogane then thats just the luck of the draw. Fortunately we were lucky. I get why people are pissed off, i really do but even with the limitation of available houses, it was still FAIR. Servers come on at this time, first come first serve and will cost this much gil etc.

Everyone had equal chance as a community. Individual circumstances cant be taken into account when releasing content for a player base this large on a game this popular.

No, it wasn't. I'm trying to bring some positivity on the situations on the forums in the sea of negative posts. I never intended to brag.

If that's your intent, then you seriously need to learn there's a proper time for things, give people a few days to vent their very legitimate frustrations, then if things remain negative try to steer it to a positive way. Making this thread right as the problem arises just makes it seem like you're doing this to mock them because you got benefit and they didn't, telling them that their concerns aren't valid and they should move on.

Agreed, Imagine if there was an earthquake and your house was destroyed and one guy comes up and be like " hey let's try not to be negative at least mine didn't, lets try to be positive". I mean sure you can be positive because it went your way, but for the vast majority of us it did not. Like Merry mentioned some of us had to deal with the stress of sleepless night because the FC's house solely depends on the luck of that one person buying it.

People talk like this community is so great and the replies here are entirely why I am jaded.

"I was lucky and I'm happy I was!"
"Don't brag, you got a house at the expense of everyone else, I can't believe you. Why don't you feel guilty about this?"

People seem to think the entire world revolves around them. Not everyone who got a house cares about what other people think or more importantly whether or not others did. Just because it's exclusive doesn't mean that people who were lucky enough to receive houses and are happy about it are only bragging.

Square Enix plays this community like fools and you guys are figuratively ripping and tearing at each other for their mistakes and negligence, just because you didn't get something that another person has.

I'm not saying this is a great thread and all that, but the people who bought houses and got lucky shouldn't have to be bleeding hearts for the rest of the community.
