    All I want for starters is a 'back one level function' with current menu i was in staying highlighted/selected .
    So i can at least go through the menus one at a time , till i find what i am looking for.

    This! I don't mind multiple menus, I just want to be able to go BACK instead of initiating the whole thing over again.

    Rather than a "back one level function", I think a tab or filter function would be better. Just put everything in one window and let us click different tabs or pre-defined filters to see different categories.
