But it was taken away to create some new content. PVP is still PVP and Ultimate is only for a really small amount of people. Taking a dungeon away from all players to do content that barely anyone plays just feels off.

Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Just because you don't enjoy it doesn't mean that it is invalid. PVP is new PVP if it is mechanically different (which RW very much is), and FFXIV is a theme park MMO intended to give something for everyone. You see "barely anyone will do it" whereas I see "finally those players who enjoy a challenge finally have a single piece of content that they can enjoy" (since raiding has been made easier). Oh, and to put your opinion into perspective, a very small number of players (far less than will do ultimate most likely) will have a house in Shirogane but you don't see people complaining and calling the decision to implement it "off". Patch 4.1 has a good mix of content for everyone, it is hardly empty.

As for losing a dungeon, I am happier with this structure of dungeons now than I am with 3.0s, given that the roulette will likely have 3 dungeons in it rather than two. Despite losing a dungeon every gear cycle, I think it will feel like we have more than HW, and if we get more content like ultimate and rival wings (and squadron dungeons, erueka, lost canals updates, perform etc.) on top of that, then I am very happy.

Also: To anyone complaining about this patch, remember that this is only 3.5 months after the expansion, not 5 months like 3.1 was.

I saw a different translation that made it sound the way that Alimdia is describing:

"Bahamut size command will be prepared, they intended to let the summoner customize the bahamut size but then it'd turn into a fight between people wanting to make it bigger, so they made a viewer-side setting" - FFXIV reddit discord unofficial live translation

I am not saying that they only should introduce things I will like but that they said that they will have one less dungeon to create new content. Having another PVP mode is imo not new. Its an already existing content with new "paint". If they truly just meant that we will get old content in new ways (which we did before with all dungeons still there) for the drop of regular content then I would surely be a bit sad because we would just get less content overall.

What would make me playing the game more (and this is only my opinion and no facts or things like that..):

    - Instanced housing with daily quests: This way everyone could get a house and depending on their limit you could even buy a house in each zone. People could start small and if they want to they could do quests (or just simply spent lots of gil) to increase the size till everyone has mansions. Anyone that is interested in this part of the game would have a huge playground and a gil sink on top of that. You could have daily or unlimited quests that will give you points if you do them and which you can use to buy some housing stuff and if you dont have money but time you could even buy the increase for the house through that. Everyone being able to have a house would also solve the problem of being forced to sub and log in nearly monthly so people with houses could just take more breaks..and the market for housing items would be way more healthier. This change is also imo needed for the future because with the recent system barely anyone has a house.

-Glamour log/catalog: Simply have a catalog where every single item is shown and where to get them. There is a bit of truth behind the sentence "glamour is the true endgame" and I am quite sure that there would be enough people that would try to complete their glamour book. (And it would free up space) With that you would make lots of old content important again and at least for me this would give me the motivation to run the old stuff again and again since glamour is one big part for me.

-Make more content like the palace which you can try solo or with a group. PotD would be my favorite content right now in the game if I did not get a DC nearly every time I try to solo it. x) Have some more puzzles in it (and please no fates) and more variety between the floors and I am quite sure it would be a long time activity.

In the end this patch would have been already so much more lively if they just added Eureka to it because even if the relic quest is often tedious you will also have stuff to do which you can still do at your own pace and have a nice weapon on top of that.
