From dungeon healers perspective it's the best tank.

They are very weak if one playing them doesn't know how to use buffs right. Had war for tank on my ex roulette today that didn't know how to use buffs right and kept dying.
WAR seems to kind of be the WHM of tanking right now in terms of lacking raid utility but it definitely won't exclude you from much. There is nothing you won't be able to clear as a WAR and if you're a lot more comfortable with it than other tanks the skill gap between you on WAR instead of something else could make up a lot of the difference.
Also personally I love WAR tanks, in my experience with randoms they are the "happy medium" in a lot of the important tank things like DPS, mitigation, threat, etc. and I rarely have to babysit them.
Utility futility schmutility. What WAR brings is convenience to a party. You have damage and you have cooldowns for any situation. You and your party never have to think about your position when it comes to delta attack. just lolholmgang it. Your co-tank never has to coordinate taking the 2nd hit of thunder III. just lolholmgang the first and third, while he invuls the 2nd. When you can conserve defensive CDs for you and your co-tank, that is the very definition of a safer run. MTing halicarnassus is a joke with the PLETHORA of options, and OTing in that fight s smooth as butter thanks to onslaught.
So how is "lack of utlity" a valid point when it hasn't even proved a breaking point?
This is what I was getting at^^^^^^
Not that WAR is some god tank. All tanks are fairly well balanced unlike 3.x, but I personally think DRK's personal dps is a little low.

I like how on an earlier post, he says the following regarding WAR superior CD kit
And yet, WAR lack of raid mitigation is a big negative...
None of the tanks make any fight faster/safer as any advantage one tank brings over the others is marginal at best.
The only thing going for PLD is that it brings "nice to have" utility for free without any drawback.
Raid utility is not yet at a point where it holds much significance at all in comparison to raid DPS. Would it be nice if war had some? Sure, but its not hurting them significantly to make them any less of a choice than the other two.
What's hurting war currently the most is trying to cram an IR+zerk window and regular zerk window between it to maximize dps while dealing with mechanics. If you miss the second zerk window or use it late, thats a significant dps loss while waiting for IR/zerk to become available at the same time again. This has always been the trouble with bursty classes though. We operate on windows of opportunity that may or may not be compatible with boss mechanic timings.
There's absolutely nothing in the class design that makes them more squishy aside from the perception that they take more damage due to how their tank stance work.
They might feel squishy because their HP drops more but they don't require more healing than other tanks.
well thats exactly why grit and shield oath is like a permanent rampart, while warrior depends the most on the healers I love the extra hp but i hate how that tank stance is def makes them feel super squishy , I actually question some of the pulls I do on warrior that I know are safe on pali and drk. But I love them in other fights because of how easy it is to change stances , but I can def feel the squish
