I see WAR incredibly rarely in games, especially now. I am hoping this is enough "game data" to respond accordingly.
With more games, I am seeing a glaring issue with PLD that DRK simply does not have: self-sustain and survival. PLD is great in terms of mitigating damage (with intelligent use of Cover) for other teammates, however when they have the medals and have been deemed the target of the enemy, they fall incredibly short.
Not only does Hallowed Ground only cover 5 seconds of an 8-minute game (which can be used roughly 3 times), but with the latest HG change, you cannot even utilize it anymore as a retreat if your healer goes down. Clemency itself is severely gimped when used on the self AND requires stopping and casting.
DRK is able to use The Blackest Night on itself as oGCD while continuing its Souleater combo for ~1k self-healing. That's ~4k of self-sustaining potency for its own survival.
Suggestion for PvP only: allow the 50% bonus of Clemency to apply even when used on the PLD himself. Unbuffed by Requiescat, this will allow a 3k Clemency to be used on the self to match The Blackest Night and will give Requiescat a little more use as a healing tool. The buffed version would be a step in bridging the huge gap in damage output between PLD and DRK.
As in the OP, I still suggest reverting the HG change ONLY in regards to crowd control.
