    Yea, the Grit requirement on TBN is really annoying.

    IB's duration is not 5 seconds or 8 seconds, it is 6 seconds.

    I know people have already mentioned this, but wanted to throw in another voice for more damage mitigation. In savage especially, I'm unbelievably squishy compared to PLD or WAR (this is with tanks that were similarly geared to me). Granted, I'm still learning the finer points of cd rotation, but so is our PLD and he consistently takes much less damage than me.

    I'm very happy with my aoe tanking abilities, but feel that once DRK gets into savage, those capabilities are not very useful (or haven't been yet, I've only cleared s1 and s2).

    Unfortunately, I did not tank anything more intense than dungeons in Heavensward, so I can't compare savage tanking then to now, but I've talked to people who did and they are of the opinion that DRK is much less viable for savage raids now.

    Ultimately, I feel that DRK does need damage mitigation buffs to be as viable in end game content as the other tanking classes.

    Why not add damage mitigation to our offensive abilities as debuffs so we survive just as well as PLD or WAR?

    PLD is far, far, far behind DRK in terms of personal mitigation, even in fights that are designed to marginalize the use of Dark Mind.

    Even WAR only really pulls ahead in fights where they're either allowed to go full-on turtle-mode with 100% Defiance uptime, or fights where Dark Mind is completely sidelined.

    When played properly (ie: little-to-no tank stance, and defensive abilities used well), WAR and DRK pretty much stand shoulder-to-shoulder in terms of overall durability; the difference is that DRK has extremely strong active mitigation (TBN) but middling core mitigation (DM/SW), while WAR has extremely strong core mitigation (Veng/ToB/RI) but no access to their active mitigation (IB) outside of tank stance. If one overshadows the other on a given fight (read: WAR overshadows DRK), it's because of either a DPS advantage, or because a fight is specifically better-suited to the mitigation suite of one tank over another in a way that is specific to that fight.

    There are definitely some outstanding issues with overall tank balance, and DRK's design in particular, but this just isn't one of them. Saying that DRK "needs to use TBN a lot just to tread water" is a little bit like saying "If WAR doesn't use Vengeance and Raw Intuition, they feel really fragile". Largely similar results are achieved defensively by both classes, and both of them are markedly more durable than PLD when played correctly.
