What's up with healers not healing?

Fun fact, Been leveling my Bard lately, Every single run where i used Palisade on the tank for mass pulls or tank busters, never get thanked for it, no one mentions it, no commendations.

To be frank, there is little reason to thank you for Palisade, like there is little reason to thank Melee for Goad or healers for heals. It's part of your job (well, optional, in this case). You do it to get better results for the party, yourself included. It's all within the "Thank for the run" or similar phrases at the end.

That being said, commendations are actually a pretty bad way to base anything off of. I know that I tend to randomly give commendations to a DPS unless:
1) The tank was extraordinarily good.
2) The healer (other healer, usually, as I main healer) did a very good job keeping everyone alive.
3) The DPS did something terribly bad for me to not consider them as targets for commendations.

Reasons are simple. I just don't have the luxury of looking at every single animation that happens with every single attack, or every single buff of every single player. I base my healing off of the tanks health and the speed at which it goes down, not whether there's an icon on his bar. Other than that, only buffs I can actually put on and debuffs I can heal matter, with DPS when I have the time. Hence me, and people like me, have zero idea who actually deserve commendations unless something special happens.
This "randomness" and not knowing what others are doing (or not doing) is probably why you didn't get commendations (or there could be someone more deserving, too, and there's only one commendation per player).

If I die while tanking because of bad healing I try to vote kick and if that doesn't work I drop.

'DPS ques are so long so I DPS on a healer for instant pops.'

IMHO that would be grounds for an instant vote kick and report the player for the abuse of the role and Q.

I have to ask what do people have against healers who dps? as long as they keep you alive you should not care. The only problem arises when they neglect healing in favor of dps.

I find the "DPS only" healers are far fewer in number then any other type of healer. Most of my random PUG runs consist of "Heal only" healers or healers who know they can DPS and try to squeeze in DPS. (With varying success) Doesn't change the fact that the ever rare elusive "DPS only" healers do exist in this game sadly. That link I provided to the "Tales from the Duty Finder" thread explains in detail of one of my very few run ins with "DPS only" healers, and how bad that is for group survival.

Because a good healer dpses non stop regardless of circumstances. o3o Just kick them, DPSing healers are harassing the party by neglecting their duties.

I am still convinced that this is directly linked to the general toxic attitude that exists towards not-dps-ing healers.

So you are saying I should kick the last 10 healers I had in pf?Since none of them was dpsing or keeping the group alive.

If you can't make a simple macro, E.G. "/ac Bio <tt>" then you shouldn't try healing and dpsing. Why? keep yourself on the party to target and just attack their target. I have four dps macros, one for Bio, Miasma, Energy Drain, and Ruin. with the pruning and streamline of skills, this scales with level for broil, broil II and Bio II... No time wasting switching targets or having to mis-click to heal the tank on a buster...
