No point posting this issue on reddit, just a glance in that thread and you can already see the same arguments about price all over again.

It is even worse on reddit. They are trying to claim SE DOESN'T Have to made announcement on price change. They felt it is unfair to rest of player base they pay lower price.

I'm an indie dev with a steamworks account, and I can atest that the developer is free to set regional prices as he/she sees fit for each region independently. There is no limitation in that regard.

Looks like it's impossible to make people paying more sympathize with people paying less. To them it looks like they punished some evildoers and we got what we deserve.
I think it's time to give up. With such support from western community this is going to be swept under the rug, and our voices will fade when subscription time runs out.

I paid 28 BRL before, now I pay 42, how do we call that again? Oh yeah, a price change.

As I said already, this would be from a legal standpoint, as in it's not violating the ToS. I did not say I agree that this is ok as I do not. I feel that SE acted in a very shady manner about this.

Don't count on the subreddit, you can already see disgusting comments defending the SE and downvotes on reasonable comments, the subreddit of xiv is the house of fanboy's, no criticism will have voice there.

I'll say once again, my post was never meant to defend SE.

I'm not affected by this, and while I'm not at a position to comment on whether or not this translates into more or less money for them (BY THE WAY GUYS THIS IS WHAT ACTUALLY MOVES THEIR DECISIONS - WOW WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT), I still think that they should have warned people that it was coming with a due justification.

If you want to argue against how bad this is, you can try and convince SE that this is an overall net loss for them, even if just because of bad PR. Saying "MUH FEELINGS" leads nowhere, not only here but in any discussion you can have.

But here's some food for thought: now that this has come to to the spotlight, if they reverted the price changes, how would they then justify the rest of the world paying more than the affected people?

But... that's exactly what the majority of people are doing. The emotional post of one dude is a drop in the ocean and its not what the majority is using as argument.

For starters, the UK players are paying less than us now so its still not the same for everybody. And it shouldnt be.

Second, if they did, that means they are embracing the practice, wich is expected from the second biggest paid MMO atm. And the regional prices should expand, as the Croatian dude was crying about some pages ago. It means a little less per player, but you get more players to get even. Also, its a price easier to keep resubing constantly between patches, something they are already trying to bait with the Falcon mount.
