Steam payment HUGE price increase!

Notice steam is taking a hit down to 40%. How much lower can it go before the plushie sellers answer? Also a little surprised more people also not voicing their displeasure at http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/fi...xiv-stormblood. Some companies take customer scores very seriously if enough sites show a bad score based on customer service. Might be more motivation to discuss the problem and try to find a compromise. It is a digital purchase let steam extend refund time. If other companies can eat digital losses to work with customers why cant SE?

Moonlite...You do realize however Steam sales is not a huge % of SE customers. Most people purchased this game from SE long before Steam started selling it.

I thought the price increase was people who pay through steam? Which if as small as you say eat the loss. If it was for every player in those regions grandfather the price in for a period. Like I don't know legacy players.

If that is so. I am not completely familiar with the issue. I thought the raise was for everyone. If thats the case just drop Steam and subscribe through SE.

Subbing straight through SE is worse in brazil since you have to pay both a tax on the purchase and on the conversion to usd, unless mogstation is 10-15% cheaper to offset the taxes, not to mention the need of a international credit card that not everybody qualifies to have in brazil

While I feel badly for people in Brazil and Russia to all the sudden have a major price increase without any warning whatsoever. The prices where not raised higher than what anybody else is paying. I think it was a di ck move by SE just to dump it on them. They should have given them a 30 day announcement. However the prices have simply been brought inline with the rest of the world. Many countries that are just as poor do not get those kinds of low sub fees and never have. Poor people exist all over the world. I wish all of you good luck and hope you will still be able to continue playing a game you have come to love.

But allow me to correct you in terms of the comparable pricing by referring to the EU product page

If you scroll down to the sub fees you'll find the prices in euro and pounds, look at the pound pricing, it's £9.


The Brazilian sub was 33 BRL:


Now the price for the Brazilian sub is 15 USD converted to BRL on the current exchange, so the prices were raised higher than some of the player base is paying (note that the UK is way better off than Brazil, but that's irrelevant).

UK prices are cheaper than those in Brazil and Russia though....

Also steam did bring more visibility to the game, and mmos have a high rate of playerbase changes, you at any given time have a significant amount of players leaving and starting, that is why new players zones are never truly empty in a healthy mmo

What are they paying in the UK. I was under the impression . Everybody was paying appr. $15 US.
