you need to adjust your mentality and move on. pondering on pass glory is meaningless in MMORPG.

And who exactly are you to dictate what's meaningful or meaningless in a MMO? maybe you and anyone like-minded need to adjust your mentality and understand the world does not revolves around you, this game caters to a wide audience and 99% is cater to 99% of the community having 1 piece of content you won't be able to clear because YOU don't want to put the same effort they did isn't going to make it or brake it to you, this is content aimed for those who wants the challenge if you don't like challenge then go do something else in the rest of the 99% the game has to offer, sorry you fail to understand how hollow it feels when you accomplish something only to have it be gifted the next few month, That's why I stopped doing relic in this game, what's the point of spending ours upon ours upon ours grinding this piece of pixel for it to later be able to achieve for half the effort I had to put to get it? to have it an extra year before anyone else? what does it matter now? for the shinnies? how many people cares or uses it after the expansion release? is meaning less and achieving it means nothing because I can just wait a couple of months and do it when it takes half a week and achieve the same....if the world worked like that any achievements means nothing.

you also need to learn that sometimes in life people get things easier than you.

the reality will prob hit you first.... since this the reality of MMORPG and with your own logic... why are you even playing? the gears you work for today will be worthless in 2~3 months. (all this started during the time when ironwork was introduced and the iLv90 coil 1 gear you worked so hard for became worthless.)

by opening up old content with undersize.. it allows other players to play them with better gears (aka, subscription time) after progression... some players attack new savage with skills.. some players attack old savage with gears. that's just how it is.

don't worry reality has hit me plenty of time enough for me to know how to appreciate effort and achievement, to work for what I want. also the gear that I farm today serve me the purpose so that I can do the content of tomorrow and the gear I get doesn't take my best skills, run a static have commitment, schedule and effort to achieve, also the gear I farm today means nothing since later on when that gear is easier to obtain the content I wanted that gear for is no longer relevant, but achieving a victory is not gear, beating the hardest content is not gear. Having all that effort you put go toward your achievement is not gear. we all play games to have fun and fun comes in many different shapes and form.

so In other words, you want to be able to beat this fight without putting the efford other players had to put to beat it. this fight is made for the challenge what are you going to get out this fight that you want so much? if you don't like the challenge the turn around and do something else? why is that so heart breaking to you?
