    Request for Super Savage difficulty

    One of the biggest issues I have with difficult content in XIV is that as soon as it is "irrelevant" then the fight becomes trivial and can be overgeared/overlevelled with ease. This lowers the value on content, and makes mounts/minions such as the alexander savage ones much less valuable of a reward than they should be.

    It is clear that this is the intention for raiding, but my far bigger complaint was regarding the titles for SCOB (savage), and how that content was essentially wasted because you can just level sync and do the fight not as intended. My request is that for the super savage fight (coming out in 4.1) specifically, as this fight is clearly intended for the top end players, can we put in a restriction that this fight cannot be level synced, and that it has an ilvl cap, or at the very least have it so that this is the condition for obtaining any mounts/minions/glamour/titles that it may drop. It is too late for SCOB, but please keep super savage as something that statics can challenge throughout the games lifespan.

    I wanted to get this thread out early so that the devs can collect feedback while the content is in development.


    Edit: To be clear, this is concerning the super savage encounter that will be released in 4.1, and is not referring to Omega (savage), and it isn't a debate as to whether the content should exist at all, because it is already in development.

    Personally, I'm more wondering why we make content for the 1% in the first place. They should only get a plague telling them to use their talents in a manner more productive for society.

    Would be nice. Another thing when you want to test your raid static: Do Titan Extreme with min ilvl (67), this is fun.

    People absolutely still use shiny, special titles. When SCoB first dropped, the Domitrix title meant something. It really was reserved for the absolute best players.

    But, I think something meant to be this intensely difficult would be a good thing to add, as long as it comes with a warning to avoid the missteps with Alexander. Hopefully calling it Super Savage is enough of one, but who knows.

    I will likely never be one of those players that do this content, as I barely touch EX fights as is, but having something, even something small, locked behind content for the literal best players to get is fine.

    The only real issue is if there will be backlash for inaccessible exclusives. We don't want more Tiger mounts, but maybe like, a special version of the regular mount dropped in Savage type thing.

    holding an old title of outdated content should mean nothing as intended.
    it's like breaking racing lap recorder with new car/new engine/new tech.

    strife to be better yourself, not bar others from shadowing your achievement.

    Easy, because it is a common archetype of player. Previously this was handled with raiding, with 4 encounters that were the hardest in the game. Now raiding is more of a mid-core piece of content, with the hardcore crowd getting one encounter. It is not a waste of resources to cater to hardcore players, as much as it is not a waste of resources to include a massively difficult setting in any game. The fight in question is likely using no extra assets (and definately doesn't add any story), and is simply changing an existing encounter, don't be selfish.

    I will ask though, isn't it more of a waste of resources to undo the content's intent after a 3-6month lifespan, than to keep the challenge there for the players that want it throughout the game's lifespan?

    It is nothing like that actually, because the idea of outdated content is manufactured, and only really applies to progression content, which the super savage fight is not. Is PotD outdated? no, because people still run it for levelling, are ARR hunts outdated? no because allied seals mean something. So why should super savage automatically be outdated?

    Titles/mounts/minions/glamour last forever, and there are no numbers attached to ever say they are outdated. If SCOB hadnt been messed up by level sync, I would still be in awe when I see someone with a SCOB savage title (as it stands, not so much now)

    Do they? Savage seems pretty casual right now, as did the ex primals. Some people in my FC were pugging it after the second raid night got cancelled due to power outages. That doesn't sound like 1% content to me.

    Savage isn't content for the 1% then, and that's a good thing. If anyone who applies themselves can learn and do content, it's well designed and worthy of being made.
