Same for those that pay via any of the other non-recurring methods. Those with a recurring sub still pay the same mistakenly lower monthly fee for now, so you see they didn't violate anything.
Man(woman, dunno), if you provide any service to a client and you want to increase the value for that, you must to warn your client about it.
You cant just raise it without any warning and expect that everything will be ok.

And yes, that is a violation to the ToS

People who manually renew their sub are those affected atm, but the change is definitely going to hit those who have reoccurring payments later down the line. Meaning that the issue right now is just a warning shot and that many people (players who don't pay attention to the forums or reddit) have no idea what's going to happen as things stand right now. It would be in SE's best interest to say something now that people have noticed and word is starting to spread, but they have made no effort at all in doing so aside from a mod post that doesn't even show up in the dev tracker.

It is annoying me to see so many people argue "fairness" in the sense that 'now people have to pay the same price'.

Average monthly income in April of 2017 for Brazil was US$675. At $15/mo. that's 2.2% of their monthly income.
Average monthly income in April of 2017 for the US was US$3,436. At $15/mo. that's 0.4% of monthly income.

Don't be the type of person that jumps on literal figures, currency and regional pricing has MUCH more to it, that's why people do it for a living.

Btw, when you set auto-renewal. There is line that saying "you agree to pay blah-blah". And there is old price. If they charge you more, then that. You can just call for Steam support, because price don't match.

So, if you just set it to auto-renewal, you get back to old price? There we go. They didn't change the auto-renewal price, just the one off price. TOS states that for auto-renewal price they have to notify, nothing about the one off price.

If they did fair pricing they would need to adjust their prices exactly to the economy of every country in the world, that's just not possible and would loose them a huge amount of income.
Yes it's possible, they used to do that, Blizzard does that, Riot does that, most companies that sell games on steam does that. They don't lose incoming cause this markets have a lot of people willing to subscribe so they win in quantity, this is actually quite normal and happens not only in games. Maybe you're just not used to it

Blizzard doesn't do that. I pay exactly the same as someone from a rich country on Blizzard app.

Well they just used steam to adjust prices. The price was lower than actual dollar value even at the time game released in steam. Stop treating it like they fixed some annoying bug, they set this price themselves to attract russian and brazillian players.
It's their right to increase it, but it's our right as costumers to know about it beforehand. It's obvious EULA breach and im very disappointed to see american and european community defending it.

But that's just it. They didn't break anything as nothing in the ToS was stated about the one off payments, only about the recurring subscription. Which apparently didn't change at all. And as was mentioned countless times, there are countries with much worse economies that don't have and never did have this regional pricing, so how is it fair for them to pay the same as rich countries while Brazil and Russia pay less?

Apple does that. Samsung does that. Iphone cost less in each country. All Samsung best phones cost much less in UAE, then USA and EU.

And there is a PHONE, physical item. Not a SUB. So all comments about fairness of price is... meh.

USA/EU guys. Get used to paying more for everything. I can buy Samsung S8 unlocked international for less then 500euro. And it is ok with ALL companies in the world. And most of them far bigger then Square Enix.

Where you see anything on ToS about exactly recurring sub? There is nothing there about it.
