Steam payment HUGE price increase!

I dont wanna our European friends getting screwed too. Many were also unable to log on Sarg some weeks ago, just like me so I feel ya.

I think the regional prices are a great idea and I wanna see SE embrace it. Not just because it suits me, but because thats one of the things that keeps big MMOs on the run. I've been suporting the game for a while, there is a lot of things I think they have to improve and I wanna see FFXIV having a big playerbase in order to make that happening.

And no, we got no promos for butler/maid outfits or the cloud. Since we play on NA servers, at least we could get the butler/maid buying stuff from Amazon. Lots of great people from NA donating codes too, that helped!

Not that I'm aware of. We're supposedly getting the promotion items thrown onto the Mog Station at some point but that could be years from now if the Moogle Suit from the Fan Fest promotion a few years ago is any indication. There's a pretty long thread detailing the problems with the European promotions and I fear that, much like that thread this one will receive minimal responses and just be left to slowly fizzle out. As much as I love the game I do hope we see more attention spent on addressing situations such as these before they become a problem in the first place.

It's really sad to see that only NA players in North America and JP get any attention in this game. I heard that the promotions im Japan were some sort of collection of points for buying anything at 7/11. My friend bought bottles of water to get enough points for a butler outfit. Turned out his account was NA so he gave the code to a Japanese player

This is 200% stupid. I mean, from the way of things it looks like SE is totally blind to any region that isn't japan or usa.

That's nothing new. Almost every Japanese company is like that as it stems from post WW2 deals they have with USA. They don't want to make their USA overlords unhappy, but the rest of the world... eh, who cares.

We are actually paying a bit more. Only UK pays less because their money tanked recently with Brexit and whatnot (and that's totally unfait to BR and RU players considering SE announced it as a "put prices in line with the USA").

As for the rest, I already said that the fact they never warned about price adjustement sucks and is a huge mistake on their part. The only point I'm disagreeing with some people here is that SE has all the right they want to do so, even if that is both a huge PR mistake and a shady move

I really don't want to sound like a jerk, as I know it sucks a lot for those of you that may not be able to afford the sub anymore, but... Doesn't that mean that you were paying your sub way less than anyone else for a few years? SE determined a sub price, and you guys weren't paying it in full (according to the GM post). I feel like it is more a corrective move than a greedy one.

In that case, I would not buy this game.
Acceptible subscription and retainer's price was a good way to lure a lot of players from low-prophit countries.

Technically it wasn't because SE's ToS for FF XIV says that it's for reoccurring payments. The adjustment hasn't hit those yet.

client version price, not regional price.
Not only have countries, who don't have the euro, to pay in euro (except UK), but also countries who are not in europe at all (like australia).

FF XIV use 4 official currencies: Yen, US Dollar, Euro and english Pound.
Every other currency price can change, depending on which of the official currencies your client version use.
