Yeah, we're all exetremely angry that we can't get those 0.30 BRL off our subscription price by selling 274898 trading cards for 0.02 BRL each. Damn. But with one time payments, people can resell Steam cards and get funds into their Steam Wallets and then use that money to pay for game time. In other words, if they sell enough of cards via Steam, they can get free monthly game time. Now that the prices for that are higher, people are angry as it's harder to get free or even cheaper game time.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I think it's rude to make assumptions like this. Personally, I don't even sell my trading cards, I prefer to use them for badges. Most cards are extremely cheap on Brazil, and, unless you have 200+ games and the patience of a saint, you won't get more than a few BRL in your wallet. We're angry because we weren't notified about this change, and it happened right when we can no longer refund Stormblood (a lot of people would like to refund it as they will no longer be able to pay for the game).
Also, yes, the recurring subscription price hasn't changed, we are aware. But who knows for how long? To me, the fact that now there's a discrepancy between one-time payments and the recurring fee prices is a much bigger problem than whatever we had before. Now I can choose if I want to pay 42 BRL or 23 BRL? ...Okay? Sure? That makes... sense... sure. And if SE can change our exchange rate for one-time payments out of the blue, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same to the recurring fee. Even if it's written in the ToS they can't do that, I don't exactly feel like I can 100% trust them on this.

You can only get cards from games you bought, amigo, with money, they aren't free, and cards are worth cents, for someone to be able to pay for a subscription selling cards they'd have to get a whole library of games (wasting way more money than they would make with cards), because each game is restricted to giving you 3-5 cards cards only. You can't even get a dollar with them. Also, upon checking, it dawned on me why people insist on one time payments via steam. A recurring payment links your card and is always the same amount, and does not allow Steam Wallet to integrate itself, so your Steam Wallet funds can't go towards your subscription. But with one time payments, people can resell Steam cards and get funds into their Steam Wallets and then use that money to pay for game time.

Yes ...not giving people some kind of warning is wrong. I don't see how people can disagree with that. However the actual price change I don't see as wrong. The only place it is a major price change is in Russia. But they where paying the equivalent of about $5-$6 US. The Brazilian price hike I believe was about a 60% price hike.

You can renew it anyway even with recurring. You can stop your sub for a few days if you want and then re-sub. I had to go on a trip for a month in 2014, I cancelled my sub and re-subbed when I came back.

For recurring payment? I'm not talking about one time payment. There is a difference. A one time payment is - you top up your wallet and pay for a month of game time. And you have to do it manualy every time. A recurring subscription is - you set it and it's all automatic, on the same day every month. You don't have to do anything for it, it just takes your money from a card on it's own. And after checking again, there is no option to do that via Steam Wallet alone. One time payments have changed. Recurring haven't.

From what a friend of mine that uses the same option told me you can use the steam wallet for the automated process, but it only works if you have no credit card attached to that account. Maybe that is the problem he is having o.oFor recurring payment? I'm not talking about one time payment. There is a difference.
