I mean, depending on how they implement it, and whether or not its a translation thing, it might be exactly what you are looking for.

It might, but given past history, I have very little hope.

but it does mean that inventory issues generally arise from "pathological" use cases where people are utilizing far more space than is necessary

Oh come on. We don't have a "pathological" problem of hoarding when we want to save armors for future glamours because farming things up is annoying as heck. I have all combat jobs save for three above level 50 and thus save armor glamours for all of them (plus saving some leveling gear for the lower level ones), which is NOT some crazy thing. But it absolutely fills both my retainers (and armoury) to bursting. And that's after dumping everything I could that was on the Calamity Salvager and putting everything I could that I wouldn't want frequently (say, for spur of the moment screenshots in the open world) in the armoir.\

I'm glad you agree that something must be done to improve how SE makes use of inventory, though.

If I have learned anything about SE in the last several years, it's that they will implement something in a way that is not how you expected and far more convoluted than necessary. Here's to hoping I'm wrong about the glamour situation
