How Would Viera Fit In XIVs lore?

No I'm not? The people assuming players who want Viera should just wear bunny ears are the people who assume we pick our races just because of the ears and horns. I know there's many possible reasons behind picking your race: that's why I switched from Miqo'te to Au Ra when they released despite people claiming they're both "waifu races" and we didn't need the iteration we got. Au Ra look and feel completely different from Miqo'te, at least to me (IMO they're much closer to Elezen to be honest, as it seems they were going more for an elegant vibe, but with a shorter race. At least for the girls). So having the choice mattered. That's what I don't understand when people just say "wear bunny ears." Same with people shutting down the want for bestial races by saying things like "Roes look beastly enough, play them instead."

That goes both ways. I think any player in the game will say "I play the race I do because it best fits my taste in spite a few quirks."

But, you assume just as much that people want Viera solely for the rabbit ears. We don't, but rabbit people is a nice concept as is, so even just wanting an avatar with rabbit ears much like Miqo'te have their tails isn't a terrble request.

I mean, between both Raen and Xeala, about a fourth of Stormblood was spent dealing with and expanding the Au Ra lore. There was clearly a ton of potential in the new race if we get that much content on them alone. It's fun to create, yo.

I don't think I personally have ever assumed that. I don't like them because I think the ears just look bad.

I think it would be cool if they were slowly introduced through the Ivalice raid. Not sure if it'd happen, but it seems interesting to me. I'd also like for two clans of viera, the short ones and the tall ones.

When has lore ever stopped anyone of putting anything weird into the game ?

Make an island with large stone statues around the coast and be done with it.
We have their racial mount already in game from a festival.

It's the most requested race. It's obvious, especially with Dalmasca coming in the future.

It's artificially the most requested race, especially since posters such as yourself create multiple threads every month relating to Viera instead of keeping it contained to one particular thread. Then again, a quick browse through your post history shows that Viera aren't the only subject that track record is applicable to.

At any rate, no new playable races until we get an upgraded character creation system with more options. Thanks.
